Question about John Deere Garden

2 Answers

I have a John Deere RX 75 that worked perfectly fine. I just did maintenance by greasing some fittings and I sprayed WD-40 on some of the moving parts under the seat (throttle, levers, etc.). After I closed the seat and it ceased to move forward. It starts up fine. The throttle works good but it wont move forward. I waited for a week to see if I just sprayed a part that i shouldnt have but it still won't move forward. Is there a suggestion to fix it?

Rabbit, the manual brake is disengaged. Ill check the kill switch on the seat again but it hasnt been a problem. it seems like the engine would kill when i put it in gear if the seat switch was messed up. i havent had that issue though.

If it's a hydrostatic, most likey you pulled the manual over-ride (only way to move the tractor manually). By leaving the over-ride level in the disengaged position, the tractor will start & run, but not move forwards or backwards. Correct by closing the the lever to it's closed (operational) position.

Do you have a manual brake that needs to be disengaged? Do you have a switch under the seat that is triggered with the weight of a driver? Make sure the switch under the seat is working properly. If it dosen't sense wieght in the seat, it won't allow it to move for safety reasons. Good luck!

My John Deere x320 forward pedal sticks

I have ran into this before. It's time consuming to fix. You have to pull the body of the mower loose and take the pedal completely apart. Clean it and grease it then put it back on, it will work fine then. They need to put grease fittings on those pedals.

Why is forward-reverse lever hard to move?

have you checked to see if there is anything tangled up around the joints? try using a little wd 40 or spray lube on any joints you see. or possibly a bolt that may have got to tight. check to see if every thing moves as it should and not in a bind. if everything is OK it maybe an internal problem with the gears in side the transmission.

What to do to my john deere lx 172 transmission to make it shift easier. the shifter is very hard to move.

Unfortunatly, you have a sealed transaxle, so their is not a place to lubricate it to make it smoother. You can spray wd-40 on the linkage but he binding usually happens inside the transmission.
