My mitsubishi tv made a pop sound then the screen went black,there is sound but no picture screen is black

That pop noise was a so called "CAP" capacitor letting (they actually blow up) go on a circuit board, open the TV cabinet up and look carefully for a burned spot on the circuit boards, it will be small, when you locate that board it may fix the TV is you replace the damaged board.

Back light is not lit. Transformer died and no longer back lighting images on screen. New TV time.

IS THERE ANY SOUND?? IF YOU HAVE SOUND BUT NO PICTURE, THE TV'S LAMP HAS PROBABLY GONE BAD. EASY TO REPLACE. ABOUT $120.

Check and replace the back-light inverter baord.

Check and replace the main power regulator board as card basis. It has damaged.

Well if it is DLP TV then crack/ pop sound was broken lamp in TV and if its another kind of TV as you did not mention its model and brand then have to check accordingly.

Could be the power supply gone bad.
No easy solution I'm afraid.

Sounds like a bad capacitor on the power circuit board. best place to look

is there any led or small lights on front panel ... red green or flashing

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
