Hello,

You may have a damaged hard drive and it needs to be replaced. If the system is still under warranty, Dell will replace the drive free, you just need to go online, supply your systems tag number and follow the instructions from there. If you have just the one drive, you will need to restore the information froma a backup. If you have a RAID set up, once the hard drive is reinstalled, the RAID will sync the drive to the others.

Good Luck

IN Red hat Linux OS ERROR E1810 HARD DRIVE 0 FAULT

There's a couple of reasons that could give this message. The primary is simply hard drive failure and it need replacement. If it's an ssd you can still get the message even if it's read by the bios and OS, but the ssd is no longer reliable (happened to myself).

Check your wire connections and if the problem persists pull the drive out and scan it in a cradle with a different PC if your machine won't boot and you're unable to install a HDD health scan program.

Any external HDD casing will do, just take it apart and remove the OEM drive and put the drive you wan't to look at in the cradle and connect it with the USB and run a HDD health scanning program to be certain. (I use HD Sentinel but there are many others)

Good luck!

I cannot get Ubuntu to load onto my Vaio PCV-RZ10. I have already partitioned the HDD with 30 Gig, loaded the OS (Ubuntu) I get a (Not Support) error message. Any ideas?

The problem is your computer is not compatable to run the Ubuntu operational system, it comes up not supported. But you can go online to forums that deal with these types of problems, because there are a lot of people out there that swear by this system.

When I started my DELL Inspiron 1525 running Win 7 Ultimate, I got a white-on-black screen which questioned the voltage from power adapter. Diagnostic program run.. Stopped with the following msg: Error...

2000-0142 and 2000-0146 are hard drive SMART errors, indicating the HDD will fail.
To boot message about the AC adapter was a BIOS level message that normally appears when a Auto/air ac adapter or other 65 watt ac adapter is used to power the system.

Problems with dell optiplex sx 270 shutting down again n again

What Operating System are you running - if Windows what version XP, vista, 7? When is it shutting down, after you get into Windows (or other OS) or when trying to boot up? Are there any error messages? New machine or old machine - if old has anything changed? How long does the system stay working before it shutsdown? Is it getting too hot, fans blocked etc?
Lets start by working out if it is the hardware (Dell and devices connected) or the software (Windows etc) It is difficult to know without more details of the problem but here are my best suggestions
Try safe mode - running windows try in safe mode (F8 when starting windows), check error logs
Test the hardware - I would start by disconnecting all external devices, USB disk and other devices. If possible also remove any extra boards you have added to the machine. Even the mouse, USB sticks, anything plugged in (but leave the keyboard). Try this, do you get the same problem.
Test the OS - If you have a live CD such as Ubuntu (can be downloaded from here: http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download ) then try booting the system from this and see if you still get a problem
Can you run a virus checker on it, how long does the machine stay running. You can try downloading from here from another machine - http://www.avg.com/us-en/avg-rescue-cd-download and making a CD, run the rescue anti virus.

Windows - Delayed Write Failed

This points out to a problem with one of your hard drives. Run CHKDSK on all drives you have, & if any problems are detected on any drive, run CHKDSK /F on that drive.
