Firstly, make sure you have enabled Bluetooth on your phone or whatever device your using the headset with. The default setting off, so go into your phones set menu and enabled Bluetooth.
You'll then need to 'pair' the headset and phone.
1. Ensure the headset is turned off (indicator light not blinking).
2. Press and hold the Call E button for 4 or 5 seconds. The indicator light will initially flash, but continue to hold down the button until the indicator light is steadily lit.
If the indicator light is flashing or not steadily lit when releasing the button, repeat both steps 1 and 2. Hold the Call E button for 4 or 5 seconds.
3. Enable Bluetooth on your phone and get to 'search for devices' it should find the headset.
4. Select Motorola HS850
Select OK or Yes to pair your headset with your phone.
Enter the passkey: 0000
Select OK.
When your headset successfully pairs with your phone, the indicator light changes from
steadily lit to flashing.
Hope this helps. Oh and make sure your phone actually supports the headset!

Choose "Settings" on the iPhone homescreen.
Select "General," then "Bluetooth."

Wait for the phone to search for in-range devices.
Select theMotorola HS850 from the list of devices.
Enter the headset passkey to complete the pairing. By default this is "0000."

It discovered the headset and asked for a PIN number... one of the other articles I read said the pin was "0000" so I put that in and - PRESTO - it works
