Mossberg.com will get you set up. But you won't really need one. Just hit youtube and watch some videos on the Mossberg 500. Yours is a .410 caliber model 500. Nice gun. Congrats!

This may be an indication of a broken firing pin, dirt in the firing pin channel, or an over oiled firing pin/channel. All will exhibit this behavior. A through cleaning is called for, with dis-assembly to follow for parts inspection.

I have also experienced this behavior from a weak hammer spring.

I'm hoping you sent it back to Mossberg....but if not, and you still have the gun, post again and I'll type it out.
