8GB ipod nano will not play songs

So I recently got an ipod nano (pink), 8GB for my birthday and it has been working fine until yesterday. When I was going through my song list, I clicked on a song and nothing happened. It wouldnt play the song. So I tried another song and it did the same. So I can't play any songs on my ipod now! Please tell me how I can fix this.

Try resynching your IPOD with Itunes on your computer then try to play again. If that does not work please respond and we can try another option. Also after you synch try the update option on Itunes as well that could fix any problems on the sofware side of your IPOD.

if that is the case i would suggest you have the unit checked at the apple center as it is under warranty so you should be ok.

I have a 8gb ipod nanm and recently it froze and won't move or

  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.

Go to www.apple.com to reacquire manual - it does help - this is a db corruption, which requires firmware, which is one of the 5 R's

one of the following doesn’t help, read on for solutions to specific problems.
â Reset your iPod nano. See “General Suggestions,” below.

Music will not play, just cycles through songs without playing

I just had the same problem with my 2GB silver nano. I had to restore the factory settings through iTunes and reload all of my music. There was also an update for the nano that I downloaded yesterday (Jan. 29, 2006) and installed when I restored the factory settings. My nano appears to be running fine for the moment, but we'll see if this actually took care of the problem.
