SOURCE: Have a 3.5 year old Jandy Aqualink RS 4 --- the

It is most likely not a bad reading on the on the display.

One culprit of a false temp reading could be:
If the temperature sensor is installed after the heater and the circulation pump is clogged or failing, this would allow super heated water to reach the temperature sensor and give you that reading. However, most pool/spa heaters have a high limit switch that would shut down the heater @ 150 degrees F. So this is also unlikely.

The most reasonable answer is to replace the temperature sensor.

If you refer to page 22 in this manual http://www.jandy-downloads.com/pdfs/Allbutton_manual.pdf
you will see that the temperature sensor is installed on terminals 5 and 6.
Trace these wires. They will goto a thermowell (which holds the temperature sensor) either in the pool plumbing, or to a temperature sensor in the heater itself. Temperature sensors when in the heater are located typically above the inlet/outlet header. There will be some disassembling required to access it in this case.
If it is in the heater and you need more help, e-mail me @ [email protected]

Please take the time to give me a positive rating on this post if I have helped.

Thanks
adam

it is showing your status aqua pure is set at 100% salt is at 4500 parts per million which is too high to operate should be between 2700 and 3400 to work properly you need to drain some water out and add fresh to dilute the salt general fault is because salt level is too high it is showing your filter pump and extra aux is on go to the equipment on on main screen it will give you a list of all your equipment any questions send me more info

Do this system have a filter on it to clean it keep tell me high salt

No... The 8110 model does not have an internal filter..If you are getting high salt alarm, check you salt concentration level... Should be between 2000 and 3000ppm.. 2600 ppm optimal. If above 4000ppm, drain about 20% of the water and fill with fresh water and check salt level again.. You should be back to normal.... Hope this helps you... Please write a comment if this helps...

We just replaced the T-cell for our pool. We were

Sound to me that you added wat to much salt.
If you are using a salt test kit that eads in colors throw it away and get a kit that reads in #.s
If you are using the one with #'s then proceed to getting your water to as close to 3000ppm as possible
Drain 20 % water ad fresh and check again keep doing this ti'll you get close to the 3000ppm

any lower than 2800 and you can read low salt and worse of all you will not produce enough chlorine any higher than 3500 and you will go cloudy and read high

It is my opinion that you were low salt and then adding to much salt put you to far to high

remeber anytime you add salt you should filter only for 12-24 hours to distribute the salt properly so the unit knows what it is reading

While adjusting your salt level clean your new cell with vinegar let it soak for a few hours You should have received a cap to cover one end of the cell while soaking
once cleaned it will not grab hold of the salt water until the generator is turned on

Just remeber 3000ppm

My Salt water pump keeps saying it is low on salt. I have added plenty of salt.

What is plenty of salt? There is a specific amount that you need Can't guess at it.
You must be above 2800ppm and no higher than 3800ppm
3000ppm is the best
You will need test strips for salt that reads in numbers not color

High salt can also trigger a LOW salt alarm
Don't ask me, it just happens

Just remeber 3000ppm

I have a intex 15'x 48" pool and a8110 salt water chlorinator. Iwould like toknow what type and how much salt I need? It's my first pool. Any set up advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks O.G/

beleive it or not all pools are not created equal
you can have 2 different brand pools the same size and they will have different water capacity
in your case since you did not tell what model pool we will go the average route

15x48 is an average of about 4000gl
that translates to about 100 pounds of salt
most important is to get a salt test kit and a chlorine/ph test kit both for about 10 bucks each
start with 75 pounds salt throwing it right in the pool then pushing it around to help dissolve it like with a brush

you want 98% pure pool salt, not iodized salt best to get this from a pool store 40lbs for 8-10 dollars
remember not to let them sell you thiungs you do not need or give bad advice

once salt is in and partially disolved turn on filter only for 24 hours
now check salt level with kit
it is imparitive to have your salt level at as close to 3000ppm as you can

you can be as high as 4000ppm but remeber the higher it is the more salt taste you will have any lower than 2500 then it is hard to generate chlorine when needed

try to find some of my other posts dealing with cloudy water and green water and you will read more info on filtering which is a major factor

If you have more questions I am at [email protected]

Low salt indicator

high concentration? Salt is salt except for the fact in aq pool you want 98% pure and it must not be iodized salt
Also before generating salt with the timer you must have the right amount of salt
the #'s in the manual are just guidelines
get a salt test kit and get your pool to 3000ppm you need to filter only 24 hours or so getting to the 3000ppm wheather you ad salt or need to drain water and ad fresh none the less get it to 3000ppm
Now worry about your chlorine level if it is to high leave alone until it comes down if too low then run the generator for a few hours if it does not show on the scale at all try 4-6 hours
you will get a knack for the amount of time you need for your chlorine situation

if once all of this is set right and you still get high reading on salt unit take it apart as directed and spray it out with the garden hose
it is really simple only 4 screws

My saltwater pool tastes very salty, but my intex saltwater pump keeps saying low salt. I have to clean the cell everyday or it will not operate properly because the cell gets covered with white buildup...

Your salt is way to high if you can taste it. You will need to dilute with fresh water until you get the salt back down and then clean the cell for continued use.
