Question about Dream Maker Spas Dream Maker Ez Spa Hot Tub

Open Question

I have a coleman 550 spa. control panel display alternates between temp and "flo". manual states this could be a low pressure situation. filter is clean valves are open and no clogs. could this be pressure switch, and if so, can you give me the part number. thanks

Depending upon the age, the Dream Maker has a digital thermostat which is easy to change but to be honest I don't think that is the cause of your problem.

Check the keypad connection on the PCB (circuit board).

t could be either the keypad or PCB at fault and withou trying one or the other you'll not be able to determine the problem. My advise would be for you to contact your local parts supplier and ask them whether or not they can supply you a keypad to try with the option to send it back for a refund if it doesn't cure the problem.

A keypad can be trial fitted to the PCB, just unplug the old one, plug the new one in and turn on the power. There's no need to install the keypad to the spa, therefore you wont damage it in anyway.

If the keypad doesn't cure the problem, change the PCB.

Ian.

Open your drain for a moment till you get water or force water into the skimmer. If you have an air lock in the pipes this will stop the spa from working.

Hi there,
please try to double check the water level. Alot of these spas are very sensitive to the water level. One other thing you can check is the terminal board connections. Some times these burn out. Let me know if any of these helps.
Thanks!

Filter 2 should be an automatic filter cycle. If you have it set to 104 and the actual temp is cooler than 2 degrees, you should have a "Heat Call". Do you see any indicators that heater is on? Do you see any other messages - error messages/codes?
If no codes, and heat indicator is on - most likely you have a bad heater element. 2nd possibility is bad heater relay on the circuit board.
If your sensor is bad, you should see an error code, or error indicator, (If not completely digital display) any blinking lights?

Circulation pump is running but FLO is displayed on panel and heat light goes out.

FLO is displayed because something has caused a reduction in water pressure through the heater. The spa control will turn the heater off when FLO is displayed to prevent a burn out.
I suggest checking the filter cartridge, the suction fittings & any valve which could be partially closed & restricting flow.
Try run the spa with out the filter cartridge if this clears the error then it is the cartridge.
If none of these work it is possible the your flow switch and/or pump is beginning to fail.
Good luck!

Assuming that pump 1 works ok on low speed...

Try removing the filter(s) and see whether or not this clears the fault. If the fault has gone install some new filters.

LF READING ON PANEL

LF means "Low Flow". Remove the filters to see if the code goes away. If not, the pressure switch may be bad.

Qca Spa pumps and blower will not come on, water down to 35º f

Ken,

You need to contact a hot tub technician/engineer as you clearly have issues.

'ICE' means that the water temperature is too low and therefore the pumps will be turned on to prevent freezing within the plumbing. Depending upon the spec and settings, the heater maybe disabled during 'ICE' condition.

'ECON' is Economy Mode. If you have a mode button, keep pressing it until you see 'Stan' on the display. This will put the system back into the standard mode.

'FLO' means that there's insufficient flow of water through the heater, or non at all. 1) Check the water level - top up if low. 2) Ensure that all jets are open and flow water - if they don't you may have a pump issue. 3) Remove the filter(s) and see whether or not this clears the fault, if so clean or replace the filters.

'COOL' is displaying because the set temperature is much higher than the current water temperature.

As I mentioned at the start, you really should get someone to take a look at your hot tub. You may have a few issues that need resolving.

Ian.
