The Backlights inverter, the T-CON,or the 24vdc power supply may have gone out, it will require in-depth troubleshooting. Please read below:
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

Why won't my sansui television show any picture?

You need to describe what is the source. Sometimes the input selected on the TV needs to be changed. Try pressing a video or source button on the TV itself to see if you're looking at the right input source. Sometimes you will have five or more inputs like HDMI and Composite. Look at where you connected the input signal and see what it's called, then look for that input on a menu of some sort.

We need the tv code for a sansui sled1980a

Hello
Three digit universal remote codes for Sansui are:
135/ 136

Four digit universal remote codes for Sansui are:
0135 0310

Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand
Code Search If after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.
  1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
  4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search. OK

My TV screen appears for a second then turns black, then a few seconds later appears again and the turns black again. The channel sound is perfectly fine. My Cable company tried everthing and it still...

If the tv isn't fully shutting down. but just flashing on and off then it
sounds like a backlight supply fault.
All LCD screens have what can only be described as micro flouro lights inside the screen module.
it is possible that the power supply is faulty causing them to flash on and off every now and then. or the tubes themselves are damaged.
to confirm this..
Lay the tv down flat on its back and power up in a well lit room
get down close to the screen and look across it at a acute angle
now if the black screen looks like it is still displaying an image then it's definatley your backlights!

in which case it could be a simple fault in the power supply.
so if your feeling confident in yourself i can talk you through what to look for in the supply..but try this first and get back to me.

hope this helps,ben :-)

T.v. will not stay on

Power on your TV and press the INPUT button on the side of the TV repeatedly and rapidly until you can change it to a different input, such as AV.

If this does not work. Try this: With the TV off, press and hold the input button on the side of the TV for about 5 seconds. The TV should power on and the input list will appear. Let me know if either of these work.

Using a Jensen remote, can't access input mode

turn on your tv, press and hold tv button, then the on/off button, it will light up then press the power button.and it turns off....hold. After holding down both for buttons for 3 secs the light on the on/off key turns back on. Release both keys and the light should stay on. Now hit the On/off button repeatedly until the tv turns off, when it does hit the stop button to save code.
