There is likely nothing more you can do. The black printhead is probably completely clogged. You would be best off to just replace the printer. UNLESS it is still under warranty!
You won't be able to print if one of the cartridges is out of ink. The printer needs all cartridges with sufficient ink levels to prevent damaging the printhead.
Every time a cartridge is replaced, all colors
are primed simultaneously thus the need for all cartridges to have ink.
Smash printer with axe or sledgehammer. Grin maniacally. After researching on internet,go out & buy new printer that allows you to print till empty & refill again! Obviously not a Lexmark...
It could be the print setting on the application where you're printing from. Before you send your print job and hit "Print" button on your computer, check in the Printing Preferences and make sure it is not set to print "Using black ink only.".
Hello,
Most of the Canon printers form the PIXMA iP series block printing when one of the cartridges is empty.
You have some options:
1) change the cartridges (with original or compatible)
2) buy a chip resetter and reset the empty cartridges chip so they can cheat the printer that they are full. This way you will clog the nozzles of your print head and the printer will become useless and won't print.
That's why I suggest you to but even cheap compatible cartridges and replace them.
Hope this helps.
Alex
It could be due to the refilled cartridge in your printer. Refilled cartridges tend to degrade print quality and in performance. Try to replace your cartridges with genuine Lexmark cartridges.
Some printers require you to have the color cartridges in them even when you are printing black and white. You usually can in your print options choose black and white over color.
It could be a faulty cartridge. Have you already tried inserting a different known working cartridge? If error continues to pop-up even with a different new or a known working cartridge, then it could be a hardware problem. Try to contact Lexmark technical support on the phone for additional assistance.
