Shuts off after using it for a while....Eiki LC-NB2UW
I watch a movie then the lamp shuts off (the lamp is off) though the projector it's self is on. I unplug it - wait a while then try it again and it works? Any ideas?

I have the exact problem. I have been using a portable fan next to the projector to keep it cooler it allows me to use the projector for work. I know that this is not the "fix" but it helps. If someone has the solution, I would like to fix the projector.

may be overheating. blow out the projector with canned air. the dust keeps in the heat that the projector is trying to expell. also check the lamp for bulges and dark spots. if you have any of those, replace the lamp. if the lamp is new, check the colorwheel for a high-pitched whir. if you don't hear it, replace the colorwheel. otherwise, replace the ballast.
simple!!! (if you know it..) press the UP button on the projector for 20 seconds, and the hours used will be displayed briefly in the left upper corner of the screen.
The operation manual is at this addres (http://www.eiki.com/docs/owners-manuals/lc-300_owner-manual_2000-06-05_en_na.pdf?sfvrsn=14). It is a PDF & very easy to download. If you need any other help, write back.
If you cannot find the advanced option in the standard users menu , then it will only be in the Service Menu which you would have to call Eiki support to find out how to enter the Service Menu.
I use it for my xbox 360 for both streamed movies and those I buy on DVD and to be honest it beats any glass tube you can buy. I have been really impressed with my but I do not like how they justify a 300 dollar price tag for lamp replacements. Just can't seem to figure out why any light bulb would cost more than 20 bucks. But hey maybe I am old fashioned :) YES it's beautiful for movies, course it's the only projector I have watched them with.
