Washed Ipod I washed my Ipod nano 3rd generation in the washing machine I turned it on and plugged it in to the computer, but it still doesn't work is there still a chance? I washed my sweet little green shuffle, sniff, sniff. Is it toast?

    Hey,

Thanks for answering. I put it on the dash of my car, and it came back on. Huh, go figure.

After it dried out completely, I charged it and holy cow it worked. I was sooooo depressed. Soooooo glad it works now.

I washed my nano in the washing machine it wont turn on

No electrical item can be washed in a washing machine!! The cost of repairing this would be as much as a new one!
Sorry Brian! Sling it in the bin, you haven't got a chance in hell of getting this working.

Ipod Nano was washed in washing machine now it will not power on. Have tried putting it in rice, and putting it on a warm, not hot surface, and just letting it sit to dry out. Still nothing at all when I...

DO NOT TURN IT ON AGAIN.. l did the same thing to my iPod a while back and called Apple. Their reccomendations are to let it dry out for at least two weeks and try it again. Turning it on again while the interior may be wet could fry the circuts. It nearly killed me to go without it for that length of time but, it saved me loads of money in the long run You may have to replace the battery afterwards (water seems to kill the ability to hold a charge for long) but it seems a small price to pay. Places like Radio Shack or Batteries Plus offer a full battery replacement for about 30 bucks.

Ipods wet

Im sorry to tell you, your ipod is dead.

Theres noting you can do. Contact the shop where you bought it maybe you have warranty? Not sure if they cover this.

In any case the hardware needs repairing / replaceing.

Doesn't work at all

there isn't much you can do at that point unless you can narrow down what part is failing. most likely, the mother board is shorted somewhere. there are companies that do repair them but you might be better off getting a new one.
