No electrical item can be washed in a washing machine!! The cost of repairing this would be as much as a new one! Sorry Brian! Sling it in the bin, you haven't got a chance in hell of getting this working.
DO NOT TURN IT ON AGAIN.. l did the same thing to my iPod a while back and called Apple. Their reccomendations are to let it dry out for at least two weeks and try it again. Turning it on again while the interior may be wet could fry the circuts. It nearly killed me to go without it for that length of time but, it saved me loads of money in the long run You may have to replace the battery afterwards (water seems to kill the ability to hold a charge for long) but it seems a small price to pay. Places like Radio Shack or Batteries Plus offer a full battery replacement for about 30 bucks.
i did that with my video it just kills the hard drive... my didnt work . you could replace the hard drive for it has long has screen and click wheel still work
there isn't much you can do at that point unless you can narrow down what part is failing. most likely, the mother board is shorted somewhere. there are companies that do repair them but you might be better off getting a new one.
