have you checked the DIC fuse and dash fuse to make sure they are tight. The DIC (instrument cluster) will light anytime it senses an issue with the data feed to it. You might just have a loose dash cluster connector or a loose DIC harness. Try jiggling some of the harnesses under the dash when the car is running normally and see if you can get the DIC to do the same symptoms.

Try disabling startup programs. Go to Start > Run (search in Win 7) and type MSConfig. In Startup tab, uncheck anything that you don't want Windows to load automatically. It will make Windows boot faster and use less resources while running. This just disables them in startup. Programs will still load, but when only you initiate.

hi there i know wht is problem rotary changer systems like 5 disic or 3 dics chnager.i have 2 oprions for that 1 is,from cd chnager belt small belt between motor another also mechanism like small tears lack white if there not good oily enaugh,maybe stock with tooth,DO u hear motor when u tray chnage disc 1;2;3? if motor burn rotary change then never will work,Some times belts getting older in cd rotary changers.the gey slepery,like flashy,but i hope will help your problem.Regards,Emil

Don't mess around with this light or this system. Take it to a repair shop. It might cause an accident if it deploys with no impact.

REMOVE THE DIC CENTER SEE IF IT IS GETTING POWER.SHAKE WIRES SEE IF DIC CONTROL WILL LIGHT UP WITH IGNITION ON ENGINE OFF.IF POWER GOING TO DIC CENTER AND SHAKE WIRES YOU STILL DONT SEE THE OIL DISPLAY LIGHT UP.DIC CONTROL COULD BE FAULTY.

Anyway we can just round off some possible causes and fixes for the moment.
If only the DIC screens on your cluster are going dim or blank despite adjustments on the backlighting knob near the main headlamp switch, the problem is internal to the cluster, and it can be fixed by an electronic service center. The other option is to have it replaced and programmed.
If the DIC buttons doesn't seem to work, remove the DIC connector and check the black wire for a good ground connection. You may also try removing the IPC fuse at the underhood fuseblock for 20sec while the igntion is off. Then reinstall the fuse and turn ignition on, and recheck button functions.
Another option is to diagnose the DIC inputs and cluster operation using a GM scan tool. It can monitor better the signals from your DIC. The scan tool may also reveal some codes that can be relevant to solving the problem, like a wiring or a component issue.

Is there anybody out there having a problem with dic control screen? my dic screen is completely out and I don't know how much it will cost to purchase one. If any body know please let me know

You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa.
