Installation cd will not load properly. It shows the background and the selection boxes but not the writing. I am trying to register my product. I select the proper box and the demoshield box displays for a moment and then it disappears. It displays properly on my test computer. I had to uninstall quicktime to get past the demoshield errors at the start.

Go right to their website and download the appropriate driver/software and install it from your computer instead of the cd. incidentally, remove the cd from the drive and inspect the working side... the shiny side and see if it has any smudges or scratches. the cd player may not be able to read it.
it's not mentioned but is that a pc or mac and what operating system are you using ?

How can i have hp psc 1510 driver and valid Win32

Here's the fix:
* First uninstall your current HP installation.*
Step one: Uninstall the printer driver and software
1.
Disconnect the universal serial bus (USB) cable from the computer.
2.
Insert the printer software CD into the computer.
3.
A prompt to uninstall the software displays. Follow the on-screen instructions to uninstall the software.
4.
Restart the computer.
Step two: Turn off the Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) programs and other background programs
When the computer is turned on, a software group called the Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) programs automatically loads. These programs activate some of the computer utilities such as the anti-virus software but are not required for the computer to function. Occasionally, TSRs prevent the printer software from loading so that it does not install properly.
In Microsoft Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows XP, use the MSCONFIG utility to prevent TSR programs and services from starting up.
1. Click Start and then click Run. The Run window opens.
2. In the Open: box, type msconfig, and then click OK. The MSCONFIG utility window opens.
3. Click the General tab.
4. Select Selective Startup.
5. If there is a check mark next to Load Startup items, click the check mark to remove it.
6. For Windows XP systems only - Click the Services tab and place a check mark in the Hide All Microsoft Services box. Select Disable All.
7. Click Apply and then click Close.
8. Click Restart to restart the computer.
Unplug your USB printer cable and reinstall. That's it!
Visit the HP Help Documentation Page for this error.
Here's the text from their page in case the URL for this changes:
Issue
The printer software installation stops and the Printer Driver Unknown error message displays on the computer. This document applies only to products connected with a USB cable.
Figure 1: Printer Driver Unknown error message
Solution: Follow the steps below to resolve this issue.
NOTE: These instructions do not apply to Windows 2000 because the MSCONFIG utility used in Step two does not exist in Windows 2000.
Step one: Uninstall the printer driver and software
1.
Disconnect the universal serial bus (USB) cable from the computer.
2.
Insert the printer software CD into the computer.
3.

NOTE: This step does not apply to Windows 2000 because the MSCONFIG utility does not exist in Windows 2000.
1.
Click Start and then click Run. The Run window opens.
2.
In the Open: box, type msconfig, and then click OK. The MSCONFIG utility window opens.

7.
Click Apply and then click Close.
8.
Click Restart to restart the computer.
Step three: Install the product software
Listed below are several options for installing the product software. If the product software CD is not available, HP recommends downloading and installing the product software from the HP Website at www.hp.com.
Method one: Install the product software from the CD
1.
If the product software CD is still in the computer CD drive, remove it and re-insert it in the CD drive.
2.
If the software installation does not start automatically, follow the steps below.
1.
Click Start and then click Run. The Run window opens.
2.
In the Open: box, type D:\setup.exe, where D is the letter of the CD-ROM drive.
Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the software installation.
Method two: Download the software from hp.com
1.
Go to www.hp.com and click Software and driver downloads.
2.
Type the model number of your product in the Search box.
3.
Select the operating system of the computer to which the device is connected.
4.
Click the downloaded software to start the software installer.
5.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
Step four: Use the MSCONFIG utility to enable the Startup software
1.
Click Start and then click Run. The Run window opens.
2.
In the Open: box, type MSCONFIG and then click OK to start the MSCONFIG utility.
3.
On the General tab, select Normal Startup to automatically enable all features the next time the computer is started. In Windows XP, click the Services tab and select Enable All.
4.
Click Apply and then click Close.
5.
Click Restart to apply the changes to the computer.

How to uninstall deepfreeze if forgotten password?

What we are going to do is to load a new instance of Deep Freeze login program and we'll change it in such a way that it will accept any password as a valid one.

Let the Play Begin

The first thing to do is to find some data that we are going to use later to load our login program instance. For this, load the Process Explorer. Once it is loaded, we can see a list of all the processes our system is running, among them is the login program called FrzState.exe or FrzState2k.exe. You may expand the tree if required to find this program. Right click over the program's name and select "Properties". A new window will be opened with the process properties.

01a.jpg

Under the Image tab, note the property named "Command Line". Note down the value of "Command Line" including the three numbers at the end of the property for future use in this tutorial.

02a.jpg

Run Ollydbg.

Quote Note: Make sure that OllyScript is properly installed. Make sure that the menu "Plugins" and submenu "OllyScript" is available. If this menu doesn't appear in the program, that means the plugin is not installed properly. To install it, go to the menu "Options" and select "Appearance". In the "Plugin path" box write the address where you copied OllyScript files, press OK and restart the program.

On the 'File' menu select 'Open' and look for the login program file (remember that Process Explorer told you where it was). In the 'Arguments' box write the three numbers you've written down. Click 'Open'. If a warning message box shows up press 'OK'. If a message box is encountered with the content "Do you want to continue the code analysis?" - press 'No'.

03a.jpg

We have successfully loaded the program. However the problem we face here is that it is protected with Aspack 2.12 due to which we cannot see the real code. To solve this, we are going to use OllyScript and the ASPack 2.12 OEP finder script. Go to the "Plugins' menu, and then to the "OllyScript" submenu and select "Run Script".

04a.jpg

Look for the script and open it. The script will find the OEP (original entry point). If any window shows up dismiss it.

Quote Note: We are now on the OEP. If you are an experienced user you can dump the program using OllyDump to analyze the code with a disassembler.
05a.jpg

Right click over the code and a context menu will appear, select 'Go to' and then 'Expression' (or use the shortcut Ctrl+G).

06a.jpg

In the text box enter the following value according to the Deep Freeze version you have installed and press OK.

VERSION/VALUE
4.20.020.0598 / 40368D
4.20.120.0598 / 40368D
4.20.121.0613 / 4034F5
5.20.220.1125 / 4037E9
5.30.120.1181 / 4037E9

07a.jpg

The program will jump to the line of code.

This is the line from where the password verification procedure is called. Let's set a breakpoint here. To do that right click over the line and in the context menu select 'Breakpoint' and then 'Toggle' (or press F2).

08a.jpg

We are almost done! Now let's run this new Deep Freeze login program instance. To do that press F9. If everything went right now you should see two Deep Freeze icons on the system tray next to the clock. If Deep Freeze was configured to hide it , instead of two icons you'll see an empty icon.

Quote Note: If the icon doesn't show up is possible that you haven't written the argument three numbers correctly or that you haven't opened the right file.
09a.jpg 10a.jpg

Now activate the login program by double clicking over the icon while you keep the shift key pressed. If there are two icons, is important that you click over the new icon and not over the old one. The login window will appear asking for the password. Write anything in the password box and press ENTER. The breakpoing we set earlier in Ollydbg will activate and the login program will freeze.

Quote Note: If the breakpoint doesn't activate is possible that you've chosen the wrong icon. Try with the other one.

11a.jpg

On Ollydbg press F8 to step over the function call. On the registers window (to the right of the code) you'll see that EAX register has the value 00000000. That means the password is incorrect, let's change that. Double click over the value of EAX to open the modification window. In the 'Hexadecimal' text box write 1 and press OK.

12a.jpg

13a.jpg

Now press F9 to continue. If everything went right the Deep Freeze configuration dialog will show up.

How do you set the background on a Dell to show a slideshow of all of the pictures?

To use your own pictures

Lost CD-KEY for cyberlink powerDVD

hi,

Following is what , i gathered information from cyberlink source

What can I do if I lost my activation key?

Before contacting customer support, try to locate the activation key through the following steps:
If you have registered your products: If you have registered the software, you can log in CyberLink Members Zone and select Manage My Products in the left menu, and then click Manage CD-Keys tab. You will see all the keys you have registered before.
If you haven't registered the products: Retail or boxed versions: If you have a retail or boxed version, the CD sleeve/case should have an activation key sticker attached to it.
Online/Download version: If you have the online/download version, you can check your email inbox for your order confirmation e-mail. It provides you with the product key.
Bundled version: If you got your software free as a bundled version, the CD sleeve/case should have a sticker attached to it. If not, please contact the hardware supplier to get a new key.
If you still have no luck locating the activation key, you will have to register as a CyberLink Member and submit a technical support form to ask for a new key. You will need to attach a digital or scanned image (in .jpg format) of your installation disc as the proof of ownership of the original software copy.
Note: If you are reading this prior to having lost your key, then we strongly recommend that you register your software as this will keep your activation key safe and available if you ever need it. You can always find Online Registration shortcut in the CyberLink program folder of Windows Start menu

How do I reset the ink levels?

Well, theres the problem. Most printers can remember up to three cartridges. That includes color & black. The best way to put it is that each cartridge has a"funger print" that the printer can read, and estimated ink levels can be gaged. There is a way to "reset" the cartridges, but i do not have the document on me. Please email [email protected] and I'll send it today. I'm not saying it will work 100%, as the reset method is geared for the 56/57/58, but who knows right?
