2 Problems - Small white horizontal line. Black Lower part of screen

I have 2 problems. One is a single white line that runs horizontal across the screen about 3 inches from the bottom. Have had this problem for a while, but just dealt with it.

Now, occasionally I lose some of the lower part of the screen about 2 to 2.5 inches. It's normally a problem when the tv is turn on and the image will eventually return on it own after some time. The rest of the image is fine.

Any solutions?

Thanks for the suggestion, however the problem is not a result of the screen display settings. The problem will occur with any of the display settings..

I'm using the component cables for the main source (Verizon FiOS). Happens with DVD input (on S-Video) as well. This model does not have an HDMI connection. The problem is sporadic, but when it does happen, no matter what source is used, it still has a black bar at the bottom of the screen. It does look like it's in letterbox mode, but it will cut off part of the program that is being displayed.

Try changing the TV's display format from widescreen to fullscreen.

Are you sure it isn't the cable provider, check to see if its a problem with the inputs. Try upgrading to another source like HDMI. I it could either be faulty wires or the inputs for the TV are fouled up.

I have 5 white dotted lines running horizontally across my nuvi1490lmt. Does anybody know why this would be?

Yes, this is caused by a defective LCD display, There is nothing that you can do to make them go away. It is caused by a defective transistor in the LCD display logic that is either stuck on or off. The transistor controls a single horizontal line across the screen. The only way to fix this problem is to replace the display.

I have a KV27FS210 sony wega trinitron tv. It turns on and has a single horizontal line across the center of the screen then buzzes shows a continuous zigzag line from the top to bottom of the screen with...

The single horizontal line is a problem with the vertical circuit. Look for a small flat id attached to a heatsink that should be marked LA7837 or something similar. Try resoldering the pins of this IC first. If that does not resolve it, replace the IC.

Keep us posted.

Black display with a horizontal white line in the middle.

Middle going across the screen from left to right??
This unit is plagued with bad solder connections in the comb filter board and flatpack underneath the comb filter board. These connections can cause any odd number of problems in video display. If it is that it's not expensive - virtually no parts. If it's a single line across the screen could also be the vertical circuit involved.
My suggestion is to have it estimated at a reputable shop and take it to them rather than the more expensive pu/del charges.
If you would like go to http://www.nesda.com/locator/state_search.php and locate a servicer from there. Kinda like going to the AMA to find a doctor...
Hope this helps!
