Finalisation is only available on DVD-R and DVD-RW discs. Check you are using the correct type of disc.

The menu will only appear if the software recognises the disc is a dash type (-) and you have completed a recording. Maybe try a different type of DVD-R disc. If the problem persists the laser may be low output and noise is confusing the software

If the disk is copywrite protected, your recorder is designed to not record be it an rw or whatever disk. Try making the copy with your computer and use DVD Shrink software still available on line. This software will decode and shrink the data to fit your blank. Since the software cannot be updated (legal reasons), it might not work, and you will have to resort to DVD Fab for the decoding process. There should be no hassle with older disks.
