I have a bunker hill safe.  Keys are locked inside.  I enter the code and then "B" and get the subtle click and lights flash white and quick green/red, but the safe does not open.  Please help.

I have the same problem! I like the hanger idea! Where is the button located relative to the buttons on the front? Does it just push in like you were pushing on the back of the front buttons? Is the a certain key it is behind for reference? I cant remember what the button looks like!

iroc357, You rock. Thanks so much. It worked like a charm. I put a extra long pencil in one of the wall mount holes and hit the reset button, the yellow light came on, I changed the code. Then I put the code in the second time and the green light came on and I opened it. I have a friend that is dying and he could not remember where the keys were for the combination. He asked me to see what I could do and thanks to your he is able to do what he wants with his valuables before that happens. You made him a happy man. Thanks

Call 1-800-444-3353 (Harbor Freight Technical Support and Parts).
Give them the model number of the safe and the key code that is etched on the front of the key slot.
If you cannot find the key slot, it is hidden behind a plastic panel, located right next to the key pad.
They will charge about $2.00 per key, and it will take about 6-8 weeks to get it.
It is resourced from outside of the US. (go figure)

I followed Lone_Star_38's advice and had replacement keys in 3 Weeks.

    Date: Late April 2011.
Problem: I had locked 1 set of keys in both of my Bunker Hill 91006 safes. I had the other keys on a keyring, and then lost the entire keyring. The batteries died in both safes, and I could not open them.

Solution: I called 1-800-444-3353, and was on the phone with a guy for about 15 minutes. One problem I had is that one of the hand-written key code numbers was scibbled poorly, and I couldn't tell whether it was a 5, 8, or 9. I asked the guy on the phone to order me 4 different keys, one for the "known" keycode, and 3 to cover the one with the unknown/blurred number. Cost was $3.24 for each key.

About a week later, a lady named "Ellen" from Harbor Freight called my house to confirm my intentions. I took pics of the 2 keycodes, sent them to her, and even "they" couldn't figure out the blurred number.

Bottom Line: Harbor Freight's service on this matter was outstanding! I got my keys in 3 weeks.
Lessons Learned: Don't lose your keys (duh!). Pay attention to the "low battery warning light" on the front of the safe.
Other tips: The plastic cover that hold the batteries in place on the inside of the safe door is prone to popping off. Use duct tape or something similiar to tape that cover shut so the batteries don't fall out after you shut the safe door.

Maybe, try going to harborfreight.com, they are about the only ones that sell bunkerhill products. obviously look up safes and if you see your model, click on it, follow the info down and you can download the product manual.(you must have adobe acrobat reader. i hope this info is helpful.

I have a bunker hill safe and i lost my keys and forgot my code. This is what i did. Turned safe over and drilled next to the hole for the floor mount to make opening wide enough to put my recipricating saw in it. Then i cut 3 sides to a large square patern. Then i pulled the metal back and put my hand in to push button to reset button. I pushed the metal back to its place and took it to a welding shop and he welded it up for $10.00. This safe is as good as new and the bottom is never seen, still looks new and is fully functional. Hope this helps. If you dont want to cut out bottom. Drill out holes for floor mount a little bigger and look for reset button using a hanger.

What does the key for a bunkerhill safe p 45891 look like and where does it go into?

Hello, Richard -

The image here:
https://www.terapeak.com/worth/replacement-keys-manual-for-bunker-hill-electronic-digital-safe-model-45891/162049295398/
shows the keys for the Bunker Hill safe model 45981. The keys are in the center, lower part of the image.

The image of the front of a different model Bunker Hill safe from the owner's manual here:
https://www.manualagent.com/harbor-freight/0-19-cubic-ft-electronic-digital-safe/product-manual-2
shows here the key "slot" is located.

Best wishes.

Get a locksmith to make you another key. Then put it somewhere else besides in the safe.

My husband locked both keys in the safe 94985...

Search on "How to open a safe with a potato" and you'll find a youtube video on how to open that safe. All the Bunker Hill safes use the same lock mechanisms which have a critical design flaw if the spring on the solenoid is weak in that the plunger bounces enough to allow the bolt to be thrown open if you can time hitting the front of the safe just right. Of course, if you mount it such that you can't get a good swing in then no problem. There are two adjustment screws to the bolt throw, if your safe is easily opened this way, you might want to adjust these screws so that more of the plunger hits the stop. I couldn't get mine to open with a rubber mallet but it's mounted so you can't get a good swing in.

I have a bunker hill safe digital, and battery is too low to open the safe and cant find my key, probably inside, any suggestions

If you have the small electronic Bunker Hill safe with lost keys and dead batteries, this is a potential solution... Take a hammer and strike the top of the safe while attempting to open at the same time. You may need to place on object on top of the safe such as a flip flop shoe to strike with hammer to smooth out the pressure when striking. It should pop open after several attempts.
