I also tried using different batteries when I recieved the message boot error. So far nothing has worked to fix it. I am really frustrated because I have had this mp3 player for only 7 months.

Hello all:

I just resolved this same boot error problem with my Memorex MMP8567 mp3 player. After talking to technical support, they could not resolve it, so I decided to try it myself. Here is what I did step by step:

1. Downloaded and installed the firmware for the player from memorex web site.

2. In windows xp, click on Start>All Programs>Digital Audio Player>Memorex MMP8567 Firmware Download to start the firmware program.

3. Connect the USB cable for the player to the computer's USB port.

4. Remove battery from the mp3 player and connect it to USB cable. At the same time depress and hold BOTH the 'menu' button on the left of the player and the volume control button on the right of the player for a few seconds until you see "initializing" in your firmware software program. Then click on the "format" option within this same firmware program. (Note: this will erase all your files on the player, but will also get rid of whatever is causing the boot errors!)

5. When the firmware program is ready, click on start and wait until it is finished.

6. Your MMP8567 should now work just fine!

I hope this helps out someone. Good luck!!

Can't find CMOS battery

Try booting up with a different operating system from your CD drive.

You can try Ubuntu 9.04 wich has a full operating system in a CD. you can even connect to the internet from this CD.

My dell inspiron want boot up

If your batter has gone bad (won't hold a charge) then it may not even have enough power to complete a boot up sequence. It will simply shut off from lack of power.

Plug it into an outlet and try booting it up with AC power. If that works, then most likely your battery is NG (no good).

If it acts the same way on AC power, then see if you can borrow another power cord and try it again. If that works, then the converter on your power cord has gone bad and you need a new one of those.

Overheating, battery not charging problems booting up

Sounds like you get a virus. If possible back up your data. Format your hard drive and reload your operating system. Load and run anti-virus. Load data and applications. Run anti-virus again. That will leave you will a clean hard drive.

Siren Edge 4 gig Boot error,

Siren's software support is bad, but you can call them: 254.224.0222

Sometimes reformatting a player can cause key system files to be lost - this particular mp3 player does not have a recovery tool or a firmware upgrade that I know of, so you can try the Windows Recovery Method: Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
Let me know how it turns out.
