SOURCE: Can I convert a Model

As shown in the literature at the link below it can be connected to a 1ph or 3ph supply. The only requirement for a 1ph supply is that the circuit its connected to can cope with the additional current. Do you know what supplies you have available?

http://www.broaster.com/pdfs/lit/1600-lr.pdf

Installation instructions supplied with these units detail how this can be done but they don't appear to be available, but I'll keep looking.

NOTE: - These works should only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Wells deep fryer 208 volt 3 element. 1 element works other two don't working left to right. Continuity good resistance good. Relay problem?

Sounds like this maybe a three phase unit and you are powering it off on single phase power. Most can be converted to single phase but will draw three times the current and requires some wiring changes. It needs to be on a three section breaker for 3 phase.

Wiring diagram for three phase power with two 200 amp service boxes inside building

This work requires a license (or qualified person) everywhere that the National Electrical Code is enforced.

If you're asking how to wire a single phase 200 amp panel from a larger, 3 phase panel of the same voltage - ONE way is to install a 2 pole - 200 amp breaker into the 3 phase panel. Provide 4 correctly sized conductors with the correct insulation in a cable or conduit between the 3 phase panel and the 200 amp single phase panel. Two of these conductors should be black and red (for 120/208 volt system) and connect to the 2 pole - 200 amp circuit breaker terminals, the third should be white and connected to the neutral bus bar. The forth should be green and is connected to the neutral bus bar as well but *only if* it is "service equipment" If it is a "main or sub panel", the green wire should be connected to the ground bus bar. The other end of the conductors should be terminated in a "main lug only" 200 amp panel. The back and red connect to "line 1" and "line 2" bus lugs, the white to the neutral bus bar that is NOT electrically connected to the panel enclosure (do not install the screw or strap between the bar and enclosure). The green must be connected by installing a separate bar that is securely fastened both mechanically and electrically to the enclosure for ground connections.

There is a great deal going on here - and plenty of variables that can change how to do this work, safely and correctly. This is an example of just ONE of many different ways to do the work for a particular installation. There is no one way that works for all situations. If your situation does not support this method - you will have an unsafe installation and subject the building and people in it to a dangerous fire / safety hazard.

Please, consult a licensed electrician before attempting this work.

I have an old GE deep fat fryer,m/n CK40B, which has no wiring diagram, I am trying to use it for my shop, but can't find any diagrams anywhere on this fryer. It was wired for 3 phase, I am trying to...

If you feed single phase into the line terminals, you will get only 1/3 the heat wattage. To get all heating elements working on single ph, you'll have to separate the common ends of the elements, then connect all 3 in parallel. Keep in mind, doing so will raise your line amperage x3 also. That may put you over the contactor's max rating. Another thing, the contactor will activate on only one sequence of single phase. You may need to move the line to another 2 of the 3 connections.

I have a new water heater, and the hook up terminals are labled 1-2-3 are they hooked the same as in the panel 1-2-3 ?

No. You have to find out if you have 3 phase or single phase power. If this is a new unit you will find a wiring diagram inside the front cover. 3 phase power has 3 "hot" wires. Single phase has 2 "hot" wires. There is a big difference when you hook it up wrong. I don't know if this is a new installation or if you are replacing an old one. The terminals are numbered for 3 phase. If you look in your breaker box, 3 phase 208 will haven a breaker with 3 spaces hooked together by one bar. Single phase will have two spaces hooked together by a bar. So if the breaker kicks out it will flip all 3 space on 3 phase or 2 spaces on single phase. If you already have wires to the location of the booster heater, you may have to use single phase if that is all that is at that location. If you have single phase power you will have to look at the wiring diagram and you will see the terminal block represented for both single and 3 phase. Normally running from the terminal block will be six wires marked 1 through 6. The wireing diagram will say something like "for single phase put 1,3,5 on terminal 1 and 2,4,6 on terminal 3. Leave terminal 2 out all together. Of course at this point your 2 hot wires will go to terminal 1 and 3. There are other considerations as well. With 3 phase the circuit wires will be smaller gauge and may not carry the current you need for single phase. This is a booster heater. You need to hook up your hot water line to go into the heater and the boosted hot water to your appliance. It will not work to heat your water for other purposes. It is meant to take 140 degree water and boost it to 190 degrees. Good luck, hope this helps

10-3 w/ ground wiring diagram

your 2 hots phase wires RED and BLACK need to go to the L1 and L2 terminals,the white goes to the "N" neutral terminal and green or green w/yellow stripe is case safety ground---now at the breaker the RED/BLACK are connected under each one of two screws on the breaker the white goes to the NEUTRAL BUS BAR on the palel surface where all the white wires are already, also the green goes to the neutral bus bar,this only applies if this is the MAIN house power panel, is you wire it to a sub box panel then the neutral must be isolated from the sub panel chassis and ground can still be connected to panels case

Hello. Here is the link to your units manual, page 3, 7, and 13 tell most of the specs, page 13 has a part number, and specifications for the proper cord.

Lowes probably does not have that high an amperage plug first of all, find an electrical supply house, or have an electrician get it and install it for you. You may actually have a 3 phase unit, but it does not specify that unit as being set for 3 phase, older units from a certain restaurant were though. If you want to find the terminal block, remove the pot, and then remove the inside rear cover, once removed you should find the terminal block inside, your wiring for the cord should go here ( a wiring diagram ).

Hope this helped, and thank you.

On a 120/240Volt single phase system is:

Black = 1st phase
Red = 2nd phase
White = neutral
Green or Bare = ground

3 phase is the same with the third phase being blue.
