No picture Last year at Wal Mart I purchased a 42'' plasma Polaroid, and six months ago it would not want to turn on, and then quit permantlly. I have called TV repair shops locally (Las Vegas) and no one repairs a Polaroid TV. Any help i would appreciate it. Thank You.

    The red light turn on but it will not power up..

    I have the same problem. We purchased a Polaroid 42" from Walmart in Nov. of 2006 and the picture went out this month. It is not under warranty, and from the reviews I have read recently, Polaroid is not very responsive to this problem. We spent a lot of money for a TV that lasted less than 24 months.

I have the same problem. i took my tv to radioshack, and they said that they dont tale tvs that are bigger that 27 inches. so i took to one of these places that fix tv, they are charging me $270, beacuse they have to change the power supply and sometranssitors,

If walmart told you that there is a one year warranty there probably is. They will most likely just exchange it right there.

Samsung Plasma 42" TV - 2006
Hi, this is quite a common problem for plasma screens and LCD screens. The fluroscent backlight is more than likely faulty and would need replacing. The best thing to do is to take it to a service centre because there are no user servicable parts inside the plasma.

No picture
if nobody will repair the tv, then your probably better off buy a new one. yours could have the bulbs blow, there could be something wrong with the board or the power supply. i don't recommend working on a tv because they are very easy to mess up and do even more damage. for your next tv, get a higher rated brand like samsung or sony. they tend to be more reliable and are easier to fix/find somebody to fix

TV CANNOT TURN ON
Google Polaroid Electronics check country then check support give then your model and serial number frim the back of tv .

This should get you a service co.

You might try gently cleaning the laser eye with soft dry Q-tip. Other wise the laser will probably need replacing. I repair and sell portable DVD players.

Hyundai 42 inch plasma tv
Mine's out, too. Red Horizontal bars Left and Right, picture goes in and out(meaning fuzzy-no picture) on Left half and the TV tuner is gone, I can play DVD with half of a screen most of the time, occasionally the whole screen.

I should have returned my "returnable model" three years ago when I noticed Wal-Mart was NOT accepting returns when purchased after a certain date (I had purchased just before that date) Big, Big, OOPS!!

Repair estimate starts at $800, not guaranteed, and that does NOT include repairing the TV tuner. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch.

I see Hyundai stopped selling these units... anyone in the Chicago area that wants it for parts, let me know.
