Sony Ericsson P990i Flip keyboard not working

The six keys of flip keyboard is not working, mean time the QWERTY and touchpad is working.

    Only a few keys are not working, i tried doing the procedure above, but does not seem to solve my problem.

Hi.
I had the same problem with my p990i. I stripped the flipped down and inspected the microswitch which gets activated when the flip is closed. The mountings and actuators get worne out after prolonged use. I cleaned everything out and reseated the switch correctly. Worked fine after that. If you do not have a bit of technical experience, i don't suggest you do it yourself. The ribbon cable is very easy to break.

How do i remove the flip on my se p990i?
Switch the phone off, look at the back of it, remove the back cover, remove the battery. you should see two copper colored screws, remove the screw, remove the flip, replace the flip with the small cover that you should have recieved with the phone, replace the screws, replace the battery, replace the back cover, switch the phone on and operate as normal but without the flip. A hint though, you touchscreen will get dirty very quickly
