SOURCE: Hi I have a MSI

Hi nick dunnmai,

Here are the things that you can try to diagnose the issue.

- Boot to "Safe Mode with Command Prompt" by pressing F8 (or F10..depending on the brand of the unit), if you can type from there, you are 100% sure that you're having software issue. In this case, you can perform virus scan, registry fix or reinstall the whole operating system.

- Replace the keyboard if it is not working in "Safe Mode". You can purchase a keyboard replacement or send back the unit to MSI repair center if still under warranty.

Hope this helps. Any comment is highly appreciated.

SOURCE: my msi cr640 keyboard is not working...please help!!!!!

Has there been any damage? Drop? Jarred? Possible loose connection? I'm sure you have unplugged, removed battery, plug in, rebooted? Are ALL you Windows and MSI updates current? You may have to open the laptop and verify the connection and repair/replace the keyboard. Take a look a MSI Support for a Manual and drivers: http://www.msi.com/product/nb/CR640.html#/?div=Overview

Overheating

Physically look in the radiator under the cap(if one exsist's) when cool, for coolant level, and check the valve in the cap for sticking. If air is present in the radiator it can't get out, and more coolant can't get in,(from the overflow). Either clean the cap or replace it and check that it is the CORRECT cap.

If radiator is low on coolant fill it to overflowing, replace cap, and check that coolant overflow is filled to the COLD line or mark. The overflow is normally where you would add coolant. (never overfill the overflow)After refilling as outlined above, check the level every morning for 2 or 3 days until coolant level stops dropping below the cold mark and add coolant to the overflow ONLY. Do not open the radiator cap. Also, if you have even a tiny coolant leak anywhere in the system, air will get drawn in, instead of coolant from the overflow.

For more OVERHEATING PROBLEMS try these...
Radiator fins dirty, clean with a strong stream of water, not high pressure water.
Radiator clogged, try backflushing it, or replace.
Thermostat stuck open or shut, replace it. Or installed BACKWARDS.
Water pump worn out, can no longer move enough coolant, replace it.
Fan shroud broken or missing....
Electric Fan(s) not working, Check the fan, relay, fuse and engine temperature sensor's.
Belt driven fan, belt slipping, fan clutch is bad, fan blades have flattened out.

Air dam under front bumper is gone, loose, or broken. It actually has a purpose other than scraping on the driveway or curbs. It forces air up into and thru the condenser and radiator. If it's loose, airflow can actually push it out of place making it useless or blocking the airflow. Along with that, there may also be a plastic piece attached to the bottom of, and wraps up behind the bumper. If it's loose, airflow can actually push it out of place blocking the airflow. Simply reattach it with 4 or 5 screws.

Also, if the vehicle has A/C and electric fans, one fan is dedicated to the A/C and should come on almost the instant the A/C is turned on. The engine fan will run even with the key off, that is normal. The system is trying to cool itself. Hope this helps.

Normally, you shouldn't have to bleed the cooling system but, there are two bleed valves. (these are the most logical locations)One is just above the water pump, and the other is on the thermostat housing. They are really small, and due to the age of your car, they will be brittle and almost impossible to open without breaking them.
You don't want to break them. If you are hearing air circulating thru the cooling system, try this and let me know how you make out.....

The fan is dead, do you know where i can get replacement?

Contact a computer store for a replacement fan or cooler. You may also place a wanted ad on Gumtree or Cragslist, informing others that you are in need of a dead but working cooler/fan for the MSI 7600GS. You could also contact MSI.

www.msi.com

Check E-bay, some-times fans are removed from dead cards and sold as refurbished, which will do.

Take care!

I just bought a new B6000C bread maker. I have not used it yet. The instructions say "push the paddle down firmly onto the shaft to secure in place". But, my paddles just sit loosely on the...

No, there is nothing wrong with your bread maker. The paddle is supposed to be somewhat loose so you can remove it after baking for cleaning. Don't worry your paddle and breadmaker are fine.

The fan is connected to an on board system controller and only comes on when the CPU gets hot .If you are worried you can down load a program called speed fan or find other free temperature monitoring programs to check your computers operating temperature.

I hope this helps

The paddle on my Sunbeam 5841 (probably 10 years old) is loose. Can it be tightened? Roz D.

You want your paddle to have some play in it otherwise they are too difficult to remove for cleaning. Unless your paddle is not kneading any more or slipping off the spindle I wouldn't worry about it yet.

Paddle fan shakes at high speed. How do i balance?

Generally speaking, all paddle fans shake to some extent but if yours seems excessive, you mave have a bent paddle bracket. Try unbolting ( usually 3 screws per paddle) the blade from the bracket while leaving the bracket attached to the motor.. Then run it up at high speed... If it still rattles a lot, you've got an out of tolerance bracket, if it runs pretty smooth, you can put the paddles back on and try it again. ( sometimes reseating the paddles and making sure the hardware is secure will solve your problem) If it turns out that your paddles are the cause of the problem, you can purchase replacement paddles from Home Depot or other home improvement stores.. Hope that helps...

Monitor connector bent pin

It is quite easy to straighten these pins, however the pins are quite brittle, and do not suffer bending too many times (they just snap) Does this cable unscrew at the monitor end? if you have straightened the pin on the cable but are worried that it may be a little weak on that end, swap the ends of the cable round and use the other end to plug into your computer (as it will be stronger) Also if the cable unplugs at the monitor end it can be replaced with a cable of the same type, available from most computer stockists, just take the broken cable with you for comparison Gareth
