Casio e100 charges, but doesn't power on.

I recently aquired a casio e100 on ebay. It is in phenomenal condition, but it doesn't power on. When I plug it in, the light is green (so its charging) but when i try powering it on it doesn't turn on. I tried taking it apart and cleaning off the rom, and it still doesnt work. Any advice?

the battery is no good at all. 23 years old it is, and no battery ever lasted 2 decades
and in fact fail faster parked unused, allowing the lithium batter to go why to low makes it DIE FAST

made 1999, use it for a paper weight. or coffee table piece, say it is real STAR Trek communicator from KIRK your own buddy. Even call him for batteries, imported from Pluto. (my home planet )

SOURCE: Charging/power problems on EX-Z55

The problem might be your charger. I would call repairs and tell them you have a defective charger and they can check it for you. You can reach them at 800-706-2534 and then keep choosing option 1 and that will take you into Casio's repair department.

SOURCE: not turning on.

I have the same problem, I rang Casio and they are sending me a replacement battery. Apparently they have had problems with the NP 20 battery and have assured me that the lifespan of a battery should be more than a year and that the new one should be fine.

SOURCE: Casio Exilim EXZ75 battery not charging

I had the same problem before and you have to call the company's Technology Support phone number which is:1-800-435-7732. The hours are Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. - 8:00pm EST and Saturday / Sunday 10:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. The reason it does this is because it is a lithium battery and they have a short battery life. If you tell them you have had your camera over a year they will charge you for a new battery but if you have had it less then a year they will send you a new battery for free. I have already gone through 3 batteries in 2 years it is ridiculous!

Keyboard will not turn on

If it hasn\'t been dropped or bumped, check the adapter. Work backwards from the keyboard. It doesn\'t take much for the casio adapters to pack a sad. If there\'s an overload in your switchboard, it\'s usually the Casio that packs a sad...everything else is fine, microwave, tv, stereo - just not the casio. Their adapters are garbage and until recently - they\'ve just gotten better

Alright so i wanted to know if i can charge my Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z700 Digital Camera without the actual charger but just plug it into my computer and it'll charger that way. i've tried this...

No. You need to plug the camera into the cradle and plug the cradle into a wall outlet. Connecting the camera to the computer merely drains the battery faster, as the camera has to spend juice communicating (or trying to communicate) with the computer, even if only to say it has nothing to say.

You eather have a bad battery or charger. you can goto wolf camera and see if the battery will charge on their charger or you can goto ebay and get them both for pretty cheap. heres one combo on ebay.

Won't turn on

I've seen a lot of Casio chargers go bad, not charge the battery, and then this is what happens. I've been using an aftermarket charger and battery I got off eBay, and they work great. I've even used the aftermarket charger to "revive" batteries that the Casio charger wouldn't charge up.

Battery/charger problem

Is your charger plugged into a power strip?  Try plugging it into the wall instead.  It worked for me.  It just blinked a few times then it began charging!

When charger is plugged, amber light blinks once and then nothing? E125 not working at all!

The Casio PDAs will quit charging very quickly if the battery is very, very discharged. If you continue to remove and re-insert the charger into the PDA's power socket, the recharging cycle will last longer and longer until finally the stupid thing will fully recharge its battery.

I have two Casio PDA's and three batteries that were recovered after a bit of tedious struggle to force the charging cycle to complete.
