Hi Paul,
The horizontal lines on the screen are virtually NEVER caused by a bad T-con board. These horizontal lines indicate a defective LCD panel (screen). The Screen has small ICs that become defective overtime and that it isn't fixable unless replacing the entire screen.

Need to know if there is a physical damage on the board. If so the LCD must be replaced. If not the fault must be confirmed only after a good inference test on the LCD panel and the motherboard.

Call sharp back again and tell them you first want to register for aquos advantage program, which is free. By doing that your service will go much quicker with them. You then tell them that you want to get set up for service. They will have one of their authorized professionals come and fix your tv in a matter of days. If their tech cannot fix it, they will replace your tv free of charge as long as you are within your warranty.

Not worth fixing,if the LCD screen panel is damage or broken.Because LCD screen it limited produce it will cost the same as a new tv.Might even cost more after the LCD screen panel part and labors.The LCD screen panel is 90% of the tv,broken or damage LCD screen panel not worth as a whole tv anymore.The tv now only worth as salvage electronics boards parts.

Unfortunately the panel is cracked internally can't can't be repaired the whole panel has to be replaced. most times the panel will cost as much as you paid for the set. My son cracked ours when it was only 3 weeks old it doesn't take much force to ruin one.

This is a main control module problem since you can't bring up the menu. I recommend contacting your local svc co.

No, panel needs replacement. Probably cost more than tv is worth

most of the time when you see this it is your lcd panel that bad but it could be inverter. cost converter is around 395 on up and if it is lcd panel not worth fixing. I would call local tv shop ask them how much they charge for estimate . or ask them price on inverter or lcd panel replacement.
