Check the plaque with the model and serial number for the Miter Saw Type. This will be below the model number. There are two types for the DW703 miter saw (1 and 3). Dewalt has exploded parts diagrams and the instruction manuals for the saw on their support site: http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Products/Detail?isId=true&productNumber=DW703&selectedType=6139 . The differences between the two types may be critical so use the drop down menu below the model number to select the type of saw before looking at the diagram. The manual and parts diagrams are on the right under Downloads. You will need to scroll down for the manual. Unfortunately a few of the part numbers are cut off at the top of the exploded parts diagram.

I hope the diagram helps you reassemble the guard. I've never taken the guard off so I'm not sure of how it fits together.

Ryobi TSS100L blade guard spring

I think what you are refering to is a circlip washer , and can only be
fitted with ( CIRCLIP PLIERS ) do you know any Michanics or Engineers as they are bound to have a set in their toolbox ,on the other hand you
can buy them. What they do is work in the opposit way normal pliers do
when you squees the handles together the jaws open, therefor opening
the (CIRCLIP ) and allowing you to place it over the pin and into the
recess. Hope this has been of some hellp goodluck T.C.

How do I assemble the blade guard for my Makita Miter Saw Model LS1030? I accidentally disassembled the guard it when changing to a new saw blade. I cant figure out how to get the tension spring back in...

lay the spring into the plastic safety cover, you will see a catch for one portion of the spring, the cover plate goes over it and there is a tab on it to catch the loose end and then the center plate which screws on to hold everything in place, check by turning the plate that holds it onto the saw for free movement. You can go to makitausa.com and in the header area on the right type in your model number ls1030n and you can download or look at a breakdown to see what I am talking about. Let me know if you need more assistance, just found your question.
