Question about Danby DDW497W 22 in. Countertop Dishwasher
Kept on getting this same code, and pump was very loud. Discovered that drain hose can get crimped or flattened like a garden hose at the rear of the dishwasher, causing the pump to work very hard to drain the tub. Especially since the dishwasher is on a counter top and gets moved from everyday use, and pushed into the wall. Pull the washer away from the wall, and reshape the hose by hand to fix. Once crimped it wants to go that way again, might use some hose clamps to hold the house open at the flattened area.

Its 8.2.16. I just experienced this. According to the manuel its a water inlet issue. None of my hoses where crimped or pinched or kinked...the dishwasher just kept sounding like it was trying to drain but it couldnt. I took the hoses off the back and low and behold it had gotten a piece of plastic like an earring back stuck in it! ( my son must have knocked it into the dishwasher when he was loading and loading.) But once i cleaned that out it drained and started working like new!

If you are unable to effect repairs yourself.
Please call our CUSTOMER HELP LINE
"1 800 26 DANBY"
and ask for assistance.
What I wil ask you to do is look for any tape or packing material in the bottom of the unit. If there is any tape on the float or flood sensors it will give you an error.
I note that there is no mention of P2 errors in the user's manual here:
