I'd keep on using it if I were you. As long as the flash is being used exclursively in manual mode then there isn't really a need to be able to see the display.

You can replace it but usually when it gets wet other systems begin to fail over a period of time.

The LCD doesn`t have light.

If you can see faint images, the backlight has failed, and LCD display will need to be replaced.

This problem is as a result of a bad control panel. The control panel controls all the functions of the unit it accepts commands and executes them. Often times it would accept a command but not execute as a result of malfunctions on the control board. This is why a times it comes on and doesn't function. The control board is not totally bad but suffers from partial failure therefore the problems.
Best solution is to get the control board replaced this can be done by any service repair personnel or simply contact the nearest dealer for a repair person.

My camera's backlight went dark. Occasionally it would work if I pressed just the right way, but it was basically toast.

Search ebay for an HDR-SR11 or HDR-SR12 flex cable similar to this one:

It's not impossible to replace, but it's definitely not for the faint of heart. Some offer a replacement service with it. I'm doing mine myself. Results to follow, maybe, if I remember to post following the repair.

My camera's backlight went dark. Occasionally it would work if I pressed just the right way, but it was basically toast. With the right external light you could sort of make out what was on the screen by back reflection of what was on the LCD screen.

Search ebay for an HDR-SR11 or HDR-SR12 flex cable similar to this one:

It's not impossible to replace, but it's definitely not for the faint of heart. Some offer a replacement service with it. I did mine and it works excellently. An $8 cable and about an hour (plus a lot of pictures-as-you-go for reassembly) is all it takes.

It might be to do with the fact that your camera doesn't accept a SD HC (High Capacity) card. Older cameras can't read/write to that format...

Hi, I purchased a replacement LCD screen for my SD3500 from Rongstar DigitalInc. Since I've learned they do not have a good reputation and to make matters worse the LCD screen will not function...

I had a similar problem with a Canon camcorder. I replaced it with a new LCD screen from Rongstar Digital, and it works! Saved a $350 camera for $20! However, installing the new LCD was very difficult, and is not meant to be done by amateurs. You have to be sure the tiny connectors and screws are placed exactly right and in the right order. Don't blame the seller if it does not work!

The sony cybershot screen is bright white with unclear images.

It is problem of lcd screen that will be replaced to get correct picture view.
Local camera repair shop will replace it or if you have expertise then can replace lcd screen by yourself.
Let me know if you need part number of lcd screen for DSC-S930 camera.
