This may be an instance were the idea was great but the execution wasn't thought out. I've heard of several related problems that may be related. Both the TV and the DVD player tend to produce heat, not in great abundance, but together a sizable amount of heat. The power supply may have been ample for the TV at first but with the addition of the DVD player was not able to handle the extra load. If still under warranty you're all set. If not you might call Akai and see what they might be able to do for you.

Change input device to some other like a DVD player and see.
Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.
If problem persists, call in a qualified service technician.

is there any standby light that comes on at all??
If there isnt than maybe just a blown fuse. replace fuse with the same rating and try again.

Lct3201ad power supply - plz let me know how much
The AKAI LCT3201AD I got from a friend who didn't know it was stuck in stand by. Took it to the local TV repair guy who charged me $25 deposit to check it out and replaced the power supply for $99 total. Works good except for DVD player that won't eject. Just need to figure out what bolts are to be used for mounting to the wall.

How do you put on a power supply board back on correctly
you need to look at the connectors that are from the other boards that you removed when you took the old board out. then just place your new board in and screw in the screws and plug in the connectors

i'm trying to hook up a dvd player to my lcd tv.i can play a movie through the tv but i cant record tv on to the dvd player.i only have antenna tv can you please solve this problem for me.

Television will not turn on with remote or from the tv itself. The red light is on, so it is getting power and we have tried other plugs, so outlet is not the problem. Akai 32" LCD TV/DVD Player Combo...
there are capacitors on the power supply that will be vented or the top bulged out
those will need to be repalced to correct the problem

Akai TV picture is too wide
HI..
You need to change the video format in the setup routine
Theres'
4x3, Letterbox or wide etc.

Change that until your picture looks better

AKAI WONT POWER ON!
The power supply on your LCD failed and will need to be replace or repair.

akai lct 2701 sound does not work my tv's sound died. There used to be a high pitched sound when turning the tv on. Then the sound would go off. To get the sound back on I would change the sound settings, then I'd have to change the picture brightness to a dark setting, finally when those 2 methods didn't work I'd have to unplug & reset the tv. Now none of these methods work. Is there a sound card or something that is easily replaced?
