Sounds like a thermal device that protects the projector's lamp circuit (and ultimately, your coffee table) has "opened". Search the internet for the specific brand and model name on the projector - then search for the projector's service manual. That document will provide schematics and troubleshooting suggestions... Change brand.

The POP sounds typically means the project bulb blew (just like a typical light bulb). You can take it into a repair shop to have the bulb replaced.

I think it's a lamp driver issue from what I've seen others have gone through. I also read that if you go through the sequence of unplugging, plug back in, wait 20 seconds and try to turn on, multiple times, it will finally kick on and work. I just got mine to turn back on by doing this and waiting through the fan cycling without the light turning on. After the 4th sequence the light flickered. After the 7th sequence it finally turned on and is working. Now I can watch the Super Bowl and will look into replacing soon.

the lamp ballast is bad and needs replacement.

definately a lamp problem, for some reason the projector doesnt seem to accept or recognize the new lamp and switches to "safe mode". usually the projector turns off before the bulb explodes...

first, make sure you have the correct lamp. the lamp for the xr-10x-l looks like the xr-10x, but the plugs are different (common mistake). make sure you have the AN-XR10L2/1, not the AN-XR10LP/1. to reset the lamp timer (with the projector plugged in but off), hold down the enter, down arrow, and menu buttons and press the power.
