My mother has a Compaq Presario 1250 that she bought in 99 and has not used since 2001. She would like to use as wireless. What can I do to help her. I cannot even hook it up to my network, the phone jack is for an RJ 11 I think versus the RJ45 that is with my Lynksis router. I also have a dynex wireless router. She would like to take on trips and use at hotels with the wireless that they offer. She wants to be able to go on line and also check emails and so forth. Do we just need a card? Please help, thank you.
You need to buy a pcima card if there is a slot on the side of that laptop to fit it. if not but it does have a usb port you can purchase a wireless stick... that plugs into the usb port. very compact, about the size of a usb flash drive.
