Normally, you can't directly play files on DVD players. However, you could try to download a free DVD player on your computer that could play protected DVD or it could play dvd of any region, such as Leawo Blu-ray Player, which is a free 4K and region-free player.
Most DVD players only accept MPEG-2 in standard VOBs. Some of the older standalone DVD players do not play AVI at all. Now some of the newer DVD players support AVI encoded with DivX. Look into the player manual, it'll tell you what formats are supported. If the DVD player does not support AVI, it will fail to play AVI files even if we have successfully burn AVI to DVD disc.
In order to successfully play all kinds of AVI files on any DVD player model, an all-in-one solution is to convert AVI to DVD player more compatible format.
SOURCE: My Samsung DVD-P390 player doesn't see downloaded avi files.
I have the same player and also had teh same problem hooking up an external drive to it (Iomega 320 prestige) This player will only recognize the FAT32 file system.Have your USB formatted for Fat32.I know, I worked for hours with my buddy trying to get his external drive working with his ps3..same thing.
