I have inherited a west bend slow cooker model 84624 and dont have a manuel for it. I am concerned with the 300 watt is this normal? Or is that very low? I dont know how long to cook in this or amounts because it is rather small.

I'm sorry, but it is not recommended to use the base of a slow cooker as a grill or griddle. Slow cookers are designed specifically for slow and even cooking at low temperatures, whereas grills and griddles require higher temperatures and direct heat. It's best to use the appropriate cooking utensils and appliances for your desired cooking method.

Why? Cheaper to just buy a new B&D for like $20.

West Bend is no longer offering a lid replacement on this model. Your best bet is to look at http://ebay.com. Be sure to enter less specific description since your lid may not be listed there by model number but simply as oval, etc. There are several West Bend Slow cooker lids listed now, but you will need to look at the pictures to see if any are the lid you need.You might find it at a second hand store as well.

I found this one on eBay but do not know if it will fit your machine. It is a little less expensive and is used. You don't say what size your slow cooker is but you can check for replacement parts at www.focuselectrics.com. Click on West Bend then, Replacement Parts tab and see if you can find one that would work. Your specific model is not listed.

You can get replacement parts on the West Bend website. Shipping isn't cheap, though.
