Serial # ca 3009268 admiral washing machine the adjater keeps coming off. I think I spelled it wrong..model AH4410 what year where these made with energy cose taped on the machine..

Had same problem with mine. useing a nut driver remove the bolt that is reached from the top of the agitator. The plastic teeth parts are called dog agits (not sure on that spelling) once the bolt is removed place the agitator on the floor and put your feet over the sides of the bottom section then you should be able to pull off the top section and will take a bit of force to do that. You will need your make and model of washer to get the dog agits and they aren't very expensive at all!! then of course put back together but make sure the top section is completely attatched to the bottom all the way so there won't be any extra space that wasn't there before!
Lid switchIf
the lid switch is defective, the washing machine may not agitate or
function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing
near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of
the washing machine to get to the switch. If it's defective, you need
to replace it.
