Question about Fuji FinePix S3 Pro Digital Camera

Open Question

My camera stopped working. It is a FinePix S3 Pro. The top screen displays Err constantly. The rear screens display nothing. Batteries are full. CF card is okay and correctly formatted. Auto focus seems to work correctly. Is there an internal battery which requires changing? Or is there another problem?

Observe the connector inside camera, using a flashlight. If there is a bent pin take the camera to service immediately. Don't turn it on any more as we did in one similar case - creating a short circuit that damaged the camera electronics and voided the warranty.

If no visible problems, remove battery and leave it out overnight.

Have you tried using a different memory card or formatting the memory card? My S1 was acting weird until I formatted the memory card using my computer.

SOURCE: Err message

This problem is caused by the plastic memory card door.

There is a door that hides the memory card on the back of the camera.

The door has a small plastic part on the left side that when the door is closed fits inside the camera.

When the door is open this part is exposed. It is right next to the "^" in "^ PUSH TO EJECT"

If you place one drop of superglue on the top of this little plastic part of the door(when open) and let it dry overnight(LEAVING THE DOOR OPEN OVERNIGHT.)

This will slightly build the plastic up about .05-1mm.

The problem is caused by the plastic part being about 1mm too small, liking resulting from normal wear.

I have tested this, and it seems to have resolved my issue with the S1 Pro I bought on e-bay

SOURCE: Display panel shows "Err"

it sounds like maybe the pins in the back of the memory car port may have gotten damaged when you did not get it in straight, I don't know of anyplace in your area to have the camera serviced, but I think it will be a costly repair.

Hi there. A mystery error shows the Display of my Finepix S2 pro. Its like that: "o - -" or "o _ _" in the upper Display. Has anyone an idea for that? Best regards, Harry

Try resetting the camera by removing the battery for 15 mins. Replace the battery then go to the camera's Menu and scroll through the settings to set the Date and Time.

I get an err messasge when the camera is turned on.Also I would be interested in a service for the camera. How to get it to you, and how long for return, and cost? David Plessas

If "Err" is displayed on the LCD panel on the top of the camera when the "MENU/EXE" button on the FinePix S1 Pro is pressed, check the following:

<If "Err" is not flashing>

1. If the slot cover is open, switch the camera off, close the slot cover and switch the camera back on.

2. If the remaining charge in the AA-size batteries is low, switch the camera off, replace the batteries and switch the camera back on.

3. If steps 1 and 2 above do not remedy the problem, contact the store where you purchased the camera or your nearest authorized FUJIFILM repair center.

<If "Err" is flashing>

1. Pictures cannot be taken because the remaining charge in the lithium batteries is too low or because the camera mechanism has stopped operating due to the camera being used in cold conditions.

In this event, switch the camera off, replace the batteries and then switch the camera back on. If replacing the batteries does not resolve the problem, set the focusing mode to "M" and release the shutter before switching the camera off briefly.

2. If step 1 above does not resolve the problem, contact the store where you purchased the camera or your nearest authorized FUJIFILM dealer.

When I switch the s3 pro on, FEE is displayed in the top LCD panel. What does this mean?

Try setting the lens aperture to the minimum aperture.
OR: If you are using a flash, the flash needs to set to TTL, or the camera to either S, A or M.

Hi, using my new ac mains adapter, the camera does not work, shows err in the top display screen, if you try to take an exposure the camera clicks, any help would be appriciated

Is it an original Fuji part, your new AC adapter?
It sound like it's not powerfull enough. The ERR error is normally related to low batteries.

Fuji s1, when I power up I get "Err" message on top LCD screen. Batteries are all freshly new.

"Err" message relates to the batteries.
If constantly lit, It's the AA batteries. When flashing, it's the lithium batteries. It can also be the tiny switch in the media door. Try activating it gently with a pointy object to see if the message disappears.

Err When Taking Photos.

Mine is doing the same. With all new batteries try squeezing the AA battery holder inwards to improve contact. This fixed mine temporarily. Long term you'll need to get the contact fixed by a camera tec.

Fuji Finepix S2 Pro

Ensure the batteries are the correct kind and chemical makeup (yes it does make a difference!)
try using lithium or alkaline as oppose to standard =]

Otherwise there may be an issue with the camera itself, check for warranty? if it isnt under warranty, document the error message/number, consult the manual AND the support site for the manufacturer.

good luck! =]
