Have a2001 GE Advantium ZSC2001CSS02 that we speed cooked 2 potatoes and then later went to microwave some broccoli and all went dead. The breaker did not trip. Tried turning the breaker off and on again and still dead. Any ideas? Is it too old to even bother calling out a repair person?

SOURCE: GE Advantium stopped working completely...indicates no power but it is on.

It may be that your high voltage diode or capacitor has shorted.

The fuse is usually located behind the grille, on the floor of the oven behind the control panel, between the door switches, or on the filter board near where the cord comes into the unit.

There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and locating components.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Here are some links you or someone you know can use (in order given) for test help, but read the safety warnings first:

http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/diode.html
(if it is NOT shorted, it's probably fine)

http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/mag_test.html
(continuity can be good even though it is bad!)

http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/xformer.html

To check the high voltage parts, you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover. If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

GE Advantium Microwave portion not working

There is a fuse for the Hi voltage transformer and the magnetron tube. You have to take the cover off to access the fuse.

Wall Oven No Power

yes the oven thermal fuse blew when the fan went off its also called a tco switch if you pull out the oven and take the top off there will be a tech sheet there that will give the location of the tco some are on top some are on back this can also happen if the oven is too tight in the cabinet not enough room around it to let the heat dissipate its a round metal disc with two wires on it

The GE Profile Advantium SCB2001KSS started beeping and displaying error code F3. I was able to set the time after holding one of the controls in for 3 seconds, but it reverted to the beeping and F3 error...

I know what you mean. I was cooking with this appliance tonight and suddenly it displayed an f-3 code. My advantium oven is less than 8 months old. Not sure how this happened or how to fix the problem. In order to sleep tonight (the constant beeping) I had to shut power off at the breaker pannel. Is this representative of the the type of quality that GE stands for???? I am sooo frustrated. I cook with my advantium oven all the time and love the dual abilities of this appliance. Like I said this is brand new and to have the f-3 code which apparently (from what I read) is a failed key pad. I am very dissapointed and am begining to think about pulling my stock from this company!
