The Nintendo 64 is a technologically old console. and as its old the technology inside might not be good quality, a trick i used with my N64 when it didnt play games is too blow all the dust out of the game card, game cartdidge drive and all connections. as its an old console it just may have grown old and worn out.

Certain colors show up as green instead of their intended color. Usually, occurs in shadows or reflective surfaces.

Game cartridge save battery needs to be replaced is a hassle but can be done, First split the cart case open find out what sort of battery purchase and replace. Some N64 Cartridges required the battery to be soldered in and out.

How to play Donkey Kong 64 without Expansion pack

Donkey Kong 64 was one of only three Nintendo 64 games to require the Expansion Pak (the others being The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and Perfect Dark), which provides 4 MB more RAM for enhanced graphics and more expansive environments, as well as to fix a game-breaking bug.We don't think that you can play this game with no expansion pack. I have tried to play perfect dark with no expansion pack and it was not all there then.

I got some used nintendo 64 games and i played one of them but then i tryed the other one and it didn't work. none of the other games work now either. someone help me!

Hi, I will be more than happy to try to help you out. First, look at the connectors on the games. They should be very shiny and a light gold color. If not, then they are dirty and need to be cleaned off. I usually use a piece of sandpaper and run it over the contacts on the game. Then take a q-tip and put some glass cleaner on it and clean the contacts off. Then look at the 64, check the contacts inside the system itself and clean them up a little as well.Put a game in, and you should be up and gaming.
