Here is a youtube video I found that was quite helpful to repair my WS-65819 this weekend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63TbxQaNkVo

There is a part 2 that deals specifically with the soldering of the chips. Hope this helps

My Mitsubishi ws-65819 shows in an oval shape, can this be fixed, also is there a way i can do it myself to save some money? Also how to play an Xbox 360 in HD?

yes......you can rplace the convergence ic's on convergence module......these are the big stk type ic's and also the low ohm resistors.
These are 3.9 to 6.8 ohm half watt on the yoke return circuit. Let me know how you fare......regards. meder's tv

Mitusbishi Model ws-65819 color convergence repair. How does one go about fixing it?

The two stk-392=570 chips need to both be replaced===they are along with the rest of the circuit on the middle board.

When my 65 inch Mitsubishi tv is on for about 10 minutes the colors get al blury and almost looks like 3D without the glasses. It is nine years old Model number WS-65819.It doesn't clear up

Your Convergence ICs are likely failing or it is a bad solder joint related to that area. It is very common on rear projections. The solution is to replace the STK chips, check fuses and the resistors next to the STK chips. Replace as necessary and re-align via the service menu. It is about a $300 repair at a tv service center. You will need the service manual if you decide to do this yourself.

Try This:
When you notice the symptons Use this simple test to verify.
Go to the users menu on the tv.
Look for the converge option probably under setup or video setting. Converge is short for convergence to align the red and blue colors to the green color.

If you cannot move the red either horizontal or vertical, then the STK chip has failed for red section.
If you cannot move the blue either horizontal or vertical, then the STK chip has failed for the blue section.

If you can move both in each direction then the problem is something else.

Note if one STK chip fails, you replace both regardless. There may only be one STK chip in this set. If there are two, they will be right next to each other.

Mitsubishi WS-65819 has convergence bows on top and bottom of the screen. The ic's stk 592-570 seem to be soldered tight to the circuit board. Wondering if the ic's are gone bad. Can you give be some...

Yes the ICs and Pico fuses need to be replaced. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model from www.tvrepairworld.com which has the ICs and fuses plus the CD with repair instructions.

Picture is distorted blurry

Model number indicated is prone to convergence problems; red or blue shadows around writing or letters---

The model indicated uses two of the STK-392-570 convergence chips; they are located on a large metal heat sink with fins at the front of the middle board inside the set.

The board has to be removed to replace them.

A pair of the chips can be purchased on EBAY (where I buy mine) for about 15 dollars-----total parts cost to fix set should be under 25 dollars.

I also have repaired hundreds of these sets and have:

Start to finish, step by step instructions for this repair in this set; they tell you everything you will need and exactly how to do the repair.

I can if you request post the instructions here for you for FREE.

I will attach a photo or two of typical convergence problems so you know if it is your problem and a photo of a typical convergence chip.

If all this information helps you, rate this solution as very helpful here as I do this for free.

My picture curves and colors are off and writing off

If it looks 3d with colors skewed you have a bad convergence IC.

The model indicated uses 2 of the STK-392-570 chips; they are located on the middle circuit board and a pair can be purchased on EBAY for about 14 dollars plus shipping.

I have repaired hundreds of these sets with this problem and I have composed and have available step by step, start to finish instructions for the do it yourself person who wants to repair this problem.

If you want the instructions (they tell you everything you will need and exactly how to do it) let me know here by using the "add a comment" button.

Please reply and understand total parts cost for this repair should be under 35 dollars total and the repair takes about one hour.

The red part of the picture is curved and separated from the other colors.

If you go into the customer menu and select convergence--then advanced(there will be instructions on screen) and red or blue are skewed and will not adjust--you have a convergence circuit problem.

The WS-55511 you have indicated uses a large single IC chip for this---a STK-393-110. SHOPS get 300 or more for this but you can buy all the parts needed for under 30 dollars--one seller I use on Ebay has that chip for 12 dollars.

If you confirm you have a convergence problem and want to try to fix it yourself---I have START TO FINISH, STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR IN THIS MODEL.

They tell you everything you will need and how to do it.

If this information helped you rate this solution as I do this here for free. If you want the instructions I can post them here.

Screen is arching at bottom of screen. only does when you first turn it on after 10 0r 15 minutes it fixes itself

This is the begining of a convergence problem and the O/p IC' will probably need replacing.
Try adjusting the convergence. If it won't move see below- (or hitting Magic Focus for some Hitachi’s)

Convergence board would have to be removed - remove and replace 2 STK IC's and check the surrounding resistors. Shops usually charge between $200-$400 Be sure to vote/rate me if this helped Thanks!
