Either file corrupt or you don't have an appropriate software/program to open/access your downloaded files

Can you provide/supply more details as regards the files or you'd have to blindly search for a program that can open the files for you

Another option is to type "file name +plus software" into the search bar of any browser for a list of programs that you can download and install and launch in order to get your files opened

I'm not totally familiar with the Kindle HD. However, since you've been able to open your downloaded files in the past, the problem probably exists in the type of file you recently downloaded which you can't open. I would suggest checking the type of file downloaded (i.e., the file extension (in computer language .doc., .exe, and so forth. You will have to have an application which can open the type of file you downloaded. This is also true of files which you download onto your computer and try to open. Please let me know what type of files you can't open and I can be more specific with my answer. Thanks!

hmm safe file sounds like something from a virus protection suite which one are you using, and you might go to settings and see how it's handling downloads

Open containing folder

Open the file's location on the computer.

Report that this file is unsafe

Open a SmartScreen webpage where you can report malware (malicious software).

Rerun security checks on this file

Run all security checks, including SmartScreen filter, on the file.

To download any file, click on the download option to start downloading. Before starting the download the computer will ask for two options 1. Save and 2. Open. Click 'Save' to specify a location where to save the downloaded file & click 'Open' to open up the downloaded file with the selected software when the download will be over.

It seems the File seems corrupt.

That is because on your computer there is no application associated with the downloaded file.

for example if you download a compressed file (.rar) you will need an unzip software (winrar) to open the file.

If you download a word file (.doc) you will need microsoft word installed.

Find out what kind of file you are downloading, then locate and install the right application to open the file.
