My Dyson Vacuum DC24 suction loss.

You sound pretty savvy in your troubleshooting. Take a look at this video. You may have a split in one of your three suction hoses. I tried to find a video for a DC24 but to no avail. These two models are pretty close and this video should help you out.

Dyson DC24 not picking up but there are no blockages

You may need new filters if the suction is not good. You may need a new brush bar if it is worn.

Dyson dc24 no suction at head of cleaner, the hose has good suction and the brushes are not spinning

Hi Janice,

If your machine has no suction from the cleaner head, I'd recommend that you check the machine for blockages and reset the brushbar. To locate and remove any blockages, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc24/dc24-multi-floor/my-machine-is-not-working/machine-not-sucking-picking-up-as-well-as-usual/filter-washing-video

To reset the brushbar, please follow the steps shown in the video below. The brushbar will not rotate when the machine is standing upright, so please recline it into the vacuuming position before testing it.

This should resolve the issue, but if you need any assistance locating the blockage, please call our Helpline on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

Jack

Brush wont spin and no suction through hose

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24. This machine is equipped with a safety device which shuts off the brushbar if something jams it. After you've checked the cleaner head for obstructions and removed any threads or hair from around the brushbar, you'll be able to reset the machine, as shown in the video below.

If the machine doesn't seem to have suction through the hose, there may be a blockage in the wand or hose - the easiest way to check for this is to follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1120&product=DC24-ALLFLOORS

Following these steps should resolve both issues - however, if you'd like any further help or advice, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

The vacuum works well but there is no suction when using the hose

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC24. If the machine picks up well through the cleaner head but not through the hose, there may be a blockage somewhere in the hose or wand. Dc 24 roller brush quit working....belt is okay & there are no obstructions on roller or in head compartment & suction at head is strong

Hi there, sometimes a stretched belt will hamper the vac. from picking up. he best way to test this is to turn the machine on, then carefully put you hand on the roller. If the belt is stretched the roller will stop turning when you apply pressure. Hope this helps, Chris

Vacuum is on and working but no suction from the main power head, I've lost my owners manual laura

Is there suction at the end of the hose? If so, then there's a clog in the power head air flow section. To double check, detach the hose, drop a coin into power head and see if it falls through.
You can clear it by using the hose and crevice tool to **** the clog out from the brush end. If this doesn't work, try using a knitting or crochet needle to pull clog out. It may also be possible to reach it with needle nose pliers.

There is a trouble-shooting site for better explanations.
