No,all small CRT tube analoge tvs types are getting analoge freeview signal only.U trying to hook this tv up now for for freeview will not work because it are all digital format signal now.Tries websites like Amazon.com,Ebay.com buy a box call Digital Coverter box hook this box betwwen the tv the in incoming freeview AIR broabroast tv signal will able to get a digital signal.Or u must have pay cable or satallite broadcating signal to used a analoge CRT tube tv now.
Digital TVs or set-top boxes only receive the digital TV signals not the digital radio signals. To receive digital radio, you need a digital radio (DAB+) receiver. The ABC does broadcast two of its digital radio music stations-ABC Dig Music and ABC Jazz-on digital TV and they are available on channels 200 and 201.
If this is helpful a vote of the thumbs up would be appreciated
You can't record the Freeview channels from the TV. It doesn't work that way. The reason you can still record terrestrial channels is because the VCR is still connected to your roof aerial with a co-axial cable and the VCR has its own built-in analogue tuner for recording terrestrial TV programmes.
To record the digital Freeview channels, you will either need to connect a separate Freeview set-top box to the VCR, or buy a VCR which has a built-in digital (DVB-T) tuner.
The VCR does not record programmes from the TV. It needs to be connected directly to the signal source, i.e. your aerial.
If you need any further assistance, please let me know.
You may need a better aerial. Digital TV signals need good signals or you can't pick up the full range of channels. Broadcasters and others are tending to keep their mouths shut about the expense of needing much better things on the roof than what many people use to get away with on analog signals. Even if you have a good aerial, If you have the 'brown' coax cable connected to it you could lose signal and stations. So it's best to replace it with Satellite coax cable FT100. That should stop a lot of blocking caused by interfearance by cars or those off road bikes youths ride around on.
Tried all combinations of scart connections and channel settings ,without result. Finally connected an external freeview box to VCR AV2,with through aerial feed to TV.Setting TV toEXT-1 and VCR to AV2 and with scart to phono adaptors connected box audio and video "out "with phono leads to audio video "in" using an adaptor into the TV scart socket.
Ok
1) plug aerial in to the antena in sock on freeview box.
2) plug short aerial type lead in to rf out socket on freeview & antena in socket on TV.
3) plug A scart lead in to the socket marked TV on freeview box & the other end of scart in to one of the scart sockets on the TV.
If your TV has more than one socket plug it into the one marked AV1 or AV2.
4) plug in freeview to mains electricity & switch box on.
5) Turn TV on freeview should appear automatically if it doesnt look on your TV remote for A button marked AV or a button with either A circle or square with an arrow going through it you may need to press this several times until you see digi picture come up.
Thats basically it but do check that you dont need a new aerial etc to be able to get digi signal in your area.
