Hello.

Clean the area around the affected key. Use a damp cloth to clean the surface of the key (and surrounding keys) and then use a dry cotton swab to clean under the stuck key. Be careful not to pry the stuck key up with the cotton swab, as this could break the stuck key.

Pull out the fingernail cleaner extension of your fingernail clippers. This is the flat extension with a little hook on the end. Place the small hook under the left corner of the stuck key. A common reason that keys get stuck is that the collapsible spring becomes off-center. Gently push the key from side to side until it clicks into place. If this does not happen, you will need to disassemble the key completely.

Lift the top part of the key with the fingernail cleaner. You will see a collapsible plastic hinge (this is known as the Key Retainer) as well as a little rubber piece. Take both of these out. You will see a flat surface. Run the cotton swab across this surface to remove any dust.

Place the key components back in the keyboard. Place the rubber part on top of the metal circle you just cleaned with the cotton swab. Then place the key retainer (big side down) on top of it, and "click" it into place. It is very important to be careful with this step as these small parts break easily. Then place the stuck key on top of these parts and then give it a solid tap to click it into place. Your key should work now.

Hope this helps.

The letter "g" keeps filling up my password spot. I checked the keyboard and the letter doesnt seem to be stuck. Have you ever seen this before? Can u help?

they key may not look stuck, but if something sticky, or a piece of debris got under it, then that would cause it. if it's a standard keyboard, you might be able to pop the key out and look under it. before you do that though, what type of keyboard is it? laptop or PC?

My FN key will not turn off. I have to press Fn F10 to turn my music up, etc. I have a Toshiba Satellite C850-1g2.

can you see under the FN key you may have something stuck under it. Try to press F10 key without pressing the FN key to see
if the sound turns up to test it. You can remove the key if you are careful. Only try this if you are confident or you can't solve it.

How to remove firewall blocking use of computer

Try This:

To get into the Windows Vista and Windows 7 Safe Mode, as the computer is booting press and hold your "F8 Key" which should bring up the "Windows Advanced Options Menu" as shown below. Use your arrow keys to move to "Safe Mode" and press your Enter key.

Note: With some computers if you press and hold a key as the computer is booting you will get a stuck key message. If this occurs, instead of pressing and holding the "F8 key", tap the "F8 key" continuously until you get the startup menu.

Once you're in safe mode with networking Uninstall your firewall.

My key is stuck in the ignition of my 2006 cadillac cts

2005 CTS 3.6 Dead battery, key stuck, service anti theft and nothing happens when you turn key, Ttried everything, ECM reset, key memory reset, charged battery to 12.7 volts, locked door w remote and opened w key, anyway you get the idea. After 3 days of online reading and trying, THIS IS WHAT WORKED, 1. put key into on position 2. removed sarter relay from front fuse panel 3. jumped 1st pin closest to fender and passenger seat with pin that is closest to motor and front fender. I used a paper clip and just made contact long enough for car to start. ran car for five minutes and took key out and everything went back to normal. then I took car to advance auto parts to have engine light reset. if car does not go back to normal you have ECM (car computer) failure. video on YouTube under "no crank, no start"

The rubber plug below the spacebar button is faulty. The button needs to be removed gently and the rubber plug below it which touches the board below should be cleaned. If this does not solve the issue the rubber plug below the button needs to be replaced. Its a common problem.

thanks and please do not forget to rate the solution.keep updated.
