Need manual for a white model 1265 serial 11404

Singer built many of the White sewing machines, including the 1710. The Singer support site, https://www.singer.com/support , has the manual available as a PDF. The current link to the manual is https://res.cloudinary.com/singer-sewing/image/upload/fl_attachment/Singer-Website-Library/outdated_product/1101_white-1710-x.pdf . If you prefer a print copy, you can order one from https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/products/instruction-manual-white-1710 , print it yourself or get it printed at any print shop (Kinko's, UPS Store, etc.). For the last option, take the PDF to the shop on a USB flash drive or submit it electronically.

Unless it is an older machine that did not have a model number, the serial number may not be helpful in locating a manual.

The model number is somewhere, possibly on a plate on the back of the machine or possibly underneath. On older Singers, the model number is represented by the serial number, ie serial # through serial # is a Model 66.

You can try searching the internet for:

White Model# manual

However, with the age, it may be difficult to find anything.

i was able to find one at www.ifixmachines.com

I solved this problem by going to a post on FixYa dated 6/4/08 oor 09 by Timetoknit.

The post mentioned a free download of "White's" Manual that is out of print, at White's sister company "the Singer Sewing Company's" website: www.singerco.com It also gave the download steps. The download steps are on my Solution post.

I downloaded the manual and printed it on 7/30/09.
