Hi.. i need help regarding Hibernating problem.. i am using using windows 7 OS on my laptop Compaq Presario CQ61-360EV and i mostly use to hibernate my laptop.. now from last 3 days whenever i try to hibernate laptop goes into sleep mode and if i touch any key windows login screen appears... i have also tried following solutions: 1. turned off then turned on hibernate using Command prompt 2. Defragmented C: drive 3. removed hiberfil.sys 4. Checked Drive for errors please help me !!!

Switch the computer off - remove the battery if necessary and wait a couple of minutes. Replace and try restarting.

Windows corruption - either a driver is malformed or one of the Wake-up settings from the device or Power settings is wrong. Easiest way is to reinstall: use a generic XP install disk with your key and later get the drivers from the HP site.

This is most likely an hardware related issue in which case you need to get it checked. To narrow the issue, you can try hooking up your laptop to an external monitor if possible and see if it does the same. If not, then there's probably an issue with the displays internal connectors. You can also try powering your laptop with only the power cable attached and without the battery, then reset all power management settings. If the problem goes away then it's probably a power management issue.

This sometimes is a gerneric term. It is most likely a heat issue, you should try and make sure that it has proper ventalation. purhaps proping up the back of the pc

when your computer boots up press F8 after the boot screen, its easy to miss the short period you can press this. This should prompt a screen which allows you to choose how to boot windows. Booting windows normally (without restoring hibernation state) or in your last good configuration that worked (it saves restore points pretty much every day your on it and will revert to that restore point) will be your best bets. Disconnect the Laptop from Power, remove the battery, Hold the power button for 6-10 seconds.
Restart the machine by connecting the power and battery, Hit the Esc key while windows is loading

Go into the control panel and go into power management or power options and change the standby settings. Its probably set to go on standby mode after 30 minutes without use or something like that

When it finally shuts down, and reboot, does it comeback to windows?

What do you mean shutting down the hibernating mode? Stop it happening when the battery goes low, or shutting down into hibernate mode?
