Question about Stanley Garden

Open Question

I have a Stanley MR77 rivet tool that I had to take apart to remove a bent rivet. Now I can't figure out how to reassemble it. Where can I get a manual, or drawing, for it?

SOURCE: Riveter doesn't eject the pin after rivet is seated.

If your pop riveter is the same as mine, after you install a rivet you must turn the tool over and spread the arms and the stem from the old rivet will drop out. I had one stem stick inside the tool, and had to disassemble the whole thing...if you have to do this, have a friend with you...you need 4 hands.

SOURCE: i need to remove chain

Some tools do both riveting and removal, does yours? If you are unsure or not confident I would fit the usual joining link (should be supplied with the new chain) and take it to a bike shop and get them to rivet it. This would be far cheaper than buying the right tool, and you dont want the chain to come apart when riding.

First never take a tool apart if don't know what you are doing, second go to the Stanley web site and you can buy or download a copy of the one you need.

How to fix a grabber reacher?

I have a idea to help you .If apart ,you mean the rivets are missing? If this is the issue, find or ask a family member w/ a pop rivet gun.The claws that do the grabbing are stamped, labeled (L)-(R). Reassembling the Grabber w/ the rivet gun wouldn't be too difficult .I could fix your problem, if we were neighbors!

I have a stanley 99e. i took it apart ti change the blade, without paying attention, and now i can't re-assanble it properly. I can't find any instructions online.

Hi.

See here the Stanley knife disassembly. If you have a 99E there may be an additional plastic part that is not shown in the diagram. The plastic tab is located at the back of the blade.

Its not meant to be removed. Purchase a new one and save yourself some troubles. You need special tools to remove it. I highly recommend purchasing the wheel complete.

There is a SLOT in the end of the knife. Simply insert the strip of new blages in to the slot and you are ready to go.

Good luck. :)
