Laserjet pro black vertical lines using adf

Do regular prints look ok? If so, then try copying something from the flatbed glass. If that copy has no line then you have something on the glass where the paper passes over when fed through the adf, clean the glass well, you may need to use some rubbing alcohol because often fine bits of adhesive from things like sticky notes will cause the lines but are not obvious to the eye when you inspect the glass.

It is copying black lines on the documents when it is sent through the top feeder but not if it is copied on the glass

The printers problem is that there is dirt or dust on the ADF glass. Lift the top cover as if you are going to copy using the flat bed glass. Look to the left of the large glass, you will see a thin glass strip. Clean it, damp lint free cloth. You should be back in business.

Everytime I fax something on my HP Laserjet 3050, the recipient receives the document with a line going down the middle of the page. How do I get rid of the line?

The way this ADF works is that there is a stationary scanner head and the machine moves the paper over it. The line down the pages is due to debris stuck between the page and the scanner. The ADF panel should open to show you the glass that needs cleaning. See the link below for full instruction. You should be able to test this by making a copy.

Dirt.
Open the ADF, the top of the scanner/copier.
The ADF glass is the thin strip of glass on the left. Damp cloth with windex or any glass cleaner. Scrub the strip of glass.

Having problem with out going faxes. Customers not receiving. HP CM4730 MFP

you need to set your fax settings differently. Print out a MENU MAP (menu, information, config pages, menumap) and find these settings....ECM to ON JBIG to OFF V34 to OFF and MAX BAUDRATE to 14.4. After those are set you need to upgrade to latest firmware

Hp 2840 laser printer

are you feeding in the copies from the Automatic Document Feeder? Open the top of the flat bed scanner and look to the left you will see a small piece of glass that is used for the ADF and then you will see a large piece of glass that is used for the flat bed scanner. Clean the small piece of glass used for the ADF and let it dry before trying to use the copier again. Test the copier and see if the gray line is still there.
