My screen shows the error 0271

Hi Dalibor
Error 0271 refers to the cmos battery being weak.
Try replacing the cmos battery.
Also make sure your date and time are correctly set!

IBM T30 error 0271

Error 0271 means: Date and time error. Neither the date nor the time is set in the computer. You need to set the date / time in the BIOS.

I accidently removed the cmos battery of ibm thinkpad t30. After that error 0271: time and date setting appear then power on password show up. I failed to get into bios to change the time and date setting...

Removing the BIOS battery will not remove the BIOS password because the password is stored on an EEPROM chip. The password can be retrieved with difficulty, it requires you to build an EEPROM chip reader. For instructions to remove this password, please click on this link :-

When I on the Laptop A error message come like that; Error 0271: Check Date and time settings and the bios password option is come. and when i enter the password it says wrong and after 3 attempts it...

You cannot get into the BIOS until you have entered the correct BIOS password.
The BIOS password is stored on an EEPROM chip and removing the BIOS battery cannot remove this password.
There are no backdoor passwords to get into the BIOS or to remove this password, BUT there is a way to retrieve this password. It will not be an easy process, you may need assistance. Please click on this link for instructions :-

I CANNOT BOOT MY IBM THINKPAD 2367..HELP

Both errors are related to the backup battery which is located under the main battery. It is probably dead. You can get one on eBay for $3.29 w/free shipping or pay a shop $20 to put one in. If you do it yourself be very gentle plugging it into the tricky little slot - it is possible to break the connector loose from the motherboard but it is an easy repair if you have patience and dexterity. As for the password, try just hitting enter. It is the supervisor password to change the BIOS settings and was probably never set.
Hope this helps.

T30 fan error

Hi,

Well, the fan is either unplugged from it's socket, froze up, or completely clogged with dust, etc and is giving the bios reason to shut down.

Also tho, tell me, does the time and date keep needing to be reset?

Could be a cmos battery. Some of the older thinkpads were like that, although my T30 has never shown this problem.

Good luck
