Vivitar Zoom Thrystor 3500 flash with a small integral unit at the base that pulls away. I doubt seeing that the manual was printed in June 1982, I doubt the unit has any value.Try to check HERE.

Or try witn Vivitar 3300 Flash.

Hope helps.

Which of the following Vivitar flashes will work on a nikon D5100? Vivitar auto thyristor 2800 or vivitar electronic flash 1900?

they should both fire, but they were not meant for modern digital cameras, and the auto features the the camera may have won't be able to control this flash. so it just a manual strobe, to set your camera on manual and experiment.

that little pin on the bottom as well as the 2 on the inside of the flash shoe should fire the flash.

good luck.

I have a Nokon D40 DSLR and a Vivatar Zoom Thyristor 3500 flash that I want to fire off camera to capture high speed photos.I would have the D40 in dark room with shutter in bulb setting. any Ideas

You can either use a PC cord to connect the flash and camera, or you can use a remote trigger to fire the flash cordlessly. Your local camera store should be able to provide options for both.

How to use vivitar zoom thyristor 285 with nikon D80 digital camera

DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THIS FLASH ON THE CAMERA OR TEHTER BY WIRE. THe voltage will destroy at least the built-in flash function of your camera. either use a radio slave, an optical slave or you can use it on camera if you use a WEIN safe-synch (approx. $70 USD). If you do not have the users guide for the flash, it can be GOOGLED. Search for "VIVITAR 285 users guide"

Older Vivitar Flash for new Canon SX10

Not compatible.
Get slave triggers and use them as remote flashes, or buy another film camera.
It seems Vivitar no longer is in the flash business. Get a Sigma or Sunpak digital flash for your SX10
