Reconnecting Wired Base Station MN-100

We changed providers and now my Wired base Station is not working in the other 2 computers. I think it has to do with the router reading the Provider's address and not the routing address?

I have a new connection with earthlink. My main computer and the two others do not connect to the internet through the router. My main computer connects when hooked up directly to the modem.

Thank you so much for your advise, but provider, comcast didn't want to help. We decided to buy a new router since was cheaper than calling microsoft or better say microsoft discontinue the rpoduct and didn't want to help either, not even paying the huge fee. Anyway, thanks for your help I'm sure if we would've have waited we would've been able to fix it, but we found a Lynks wireless/wired router for only 59 dollars. We couldn't pass that. :) Thanks again

Yes, that is possible. Since you have changed providers, you have to reconfigure the router depending on your new provider.

You can try these steps:

1. Turn off the the router, modem and the computer.
2. Wait for 30 seconds then turn on the modem and make sure that all (if not most) lights are stabilize
3. When the lights are stabilized, turn on the router and wait for the lights to stabilize.
4. When both the router and the modem are stabilized, you can turn on the computer and check for the connection.

If it still does not work, you may need to configure the router based on the settings needed by the service provider that you have. If you wish, inform me of the name of your service provider and I will give you the specific settings on how to configure your router.

AFTER USING THE MN-100 BASE STATION FOR FIVE YEARS, IT ISN'T GETTING ANY POWER (LIGHTS NOT COMING ON) YET THE PLUG HAS JUICE. DO THESE JUST WEAR OUT OVER TIME?

All electronic devices will eventually fail, depending on how well they are manufactured and the conditions they are operated under.
Things that will lower the lifespan of a router : high sustained amounts of traffic, being crammed into a tight space where they do not have room to remain cool, poor power, spikes or brownouts can be very damaging to routers. I would suggest making sure it is plugged into a proper surge protector in a well ventilated area.
That said, 5 years is a decent lifespan for such a device, most manufacturers will only warranty such devices for 1 year.
hope this was helpful.
