Hi,i started a load of whites 2days ago, because wanted to ad an item, so i pressed the pause button and the door lock wouldn't allow me to. (when ever i need to add an item before i never had a problem) at this point i waited and tried about 2 more times doing the same thing(pressed the pause button) but nothing happened.so i just gave up, after a while i just so happened to walk into my bathroom and noticed that the lights were all turned off on the washer except for the door lock indicator and the (normal cycle button) but that button was blinking and my washer was still in motion cleaning my load of wash.at this time i just pressed the power button to turn on the lights, they turned on but it just kept turning off on its own until the cycle was finished. the next day i tried to do a load of whites and in the middle of the first draining my washer turned off all its lights except the door lock which was blinking at this time but my washer was stuck on drain and wouldn't move on to spin.i tried to press the power button but nothing wouldn't happen , i tried that 3times still nothing,so i just unplugged it to see if it will reset itself but nothing will turn on except the 3second door lock indicator that is located next to the power button. i have a load of whites that needs to finish,i can go in and out of my washer but it will not turn on at all.the only light that is automatically on when plugged up is the 3second light. what do i do? my washer type: Maytag 4000 series 4.5cu,new purchased in Feb of this yr received in March of this yr. Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I suspect from your description of the symptoms that the drain filter is possibly blocked or the drain motor is unable to function correctly.

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
John C

My front load affinity will not start, says pause

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

I see that your Frigidaire washer, FAFW3517KW, is constantly showing you pause, when you press start it flashes the pause again, and that the door lock light does not come on. You could be seeing a couple of different possible reasons this is happening such as your control panel, door lock assembly, or door switch. Since it could be any of the underlying issues I would recommend having a professional come out to the home and repair the washer. -Matt

I dont have a stop buttom

You're start/pause button should pause the cycle, cancell should completely cancell. After pressing the Start/Pause within a cycle, the door lock may require time to unlock as indicated by the lock light on the panel.

Push the laundry into the drum completely to prevent the laundry from being caught in the door or
....... from falling out of the drum.
3. Press the Power button.
4. Add detergent and additives to the dispenser (page 20-21).
5. Select the appropriate cycle and options for the load (page 14-16).

The time may fluctuate to better indicate the time remaining in the cycle.
The actual time required for a cycle may differ from the estimated time in the display depending on the
water pressure, water temperature, detergent, and laundry.
9. Before your washer starts to fill, it will make a series of clicking noises to check the door lock and do a
quick drain.

When the cycle is complete, the door lock light will go out and "End" will appear in the display.

DO NOT attempt to open the door until the door lock light is off. To add a forgotten item, see
"Loading your washer" section (page 13).

When your washer is restarted after a pause, expect a delay of up to 15 seconds before the cycle
continues.

Pressing Power button cancels the cycle and stops your washer.

The pre wash, wash, rinse and spin indicator lights will illuminate during those portions of the cycle

Fisher & Paykel dryer DE60F60EW1 has suddenly stopped working when I tried to change the program. How do I reset the machine

Here are a couple of possible reasons it stopped and solutions from the manual.

Adding/removing laundry in standby mode

If you want to add or remove laundry into/from your machine after the drying programme has
started, put the machine into Pause mode by pressing the START/PAUSE/CANCEL button. The
drying process will stop. Open the door at Pause position and close it again after adding or
removing laundry. Press START/PAUSE/CANCEL button to start the programme.

Any laundry added after the drying process was started may cause the already dried clothes in
the machine to intermingle with wet clothes and the result will be wet laundry after the drying
process is over.
It is not recommended to add laundry after the programme is started as it will increase the
programme time and energy consumption.

Childproof lock

There is a childproof lock to prevent any programme interruption due to the pressing of keys
while the programme is on. The loading door and all keys except the ON/OFF key on the panel are
deactivated when the childproof lock is active.
In order to activate the childproof lock, press on the StARt/PAUSe/CANCel and BUzzeR CANCel
buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds.

Fig.6 Using the
childproof lock

To start a new programme after the programme is over or to interrupt the
programme, the childproof lock should be deactivated.
To deactivate the childproof lock, press the same buttons for 3 seconds.

Two beeps will sound when the childproof lock is activated. A single beep
will sound when the lock is deactivated.

I was able to view the manual by a Google search and the third item on the Google search list was the manual, but it would only come up by selecting "quick view", otherwise it would crash the Acrobat reader plugin.
