My name is Scott and I am repairing my fathers Samsung HL-P5063W DLP Tv. He heard a loud snap and the TV went black but still had sound. When I pulled it apart, the color wheel had broke into many pieces. I have replaced the color wheel, with part number BP96-00674A, and the Lamp with BP96-00826A and the fan BP31-00010B. Even after holding down the lamp safety switch, the lamp still will not light up and the power switch flashes lamp. What else could be the problem

sounds like a the color wheel blown. Call a local tv repair shop. Some Samsung models carry two different color wheels for same model depending on chassis version which can be seen only when the back is removed.
If you are hearing this noises, that's your Color Wheel. The reason fot that is because your color wheel spins 5000rpms(revolution per minute) and something that modifies the balance if the disc can cause different things.Unfortunately in order to check if your color wheel is working properly you need to open your TV and physically check out.
Grinding= Most probably the color disc is broken and you need to replace it.
Spinning / Buzzing = The bearing of the wheel is loose and is loosing its balance, eventually it will brake.
The best thing to do is to take the color wheel out and spin it ,if you feel that the disc kind of wobbles or doesn't spin smoothly you have to replace it.
You can check DM they have very good prices

The most common failure in the DLP that makes a whining sound would be the color wheel. They cost about $135 + labor because I wouldn't advise changing it by yourself.
Hi..if your lamp is on but no picture, then your lamp is good. Your problem is the DMD board (digital mirror display board) is bad. This is very common with Samsung DLP.
